The Final Idols Talk!

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen shared some final thoughts about tonight's Idol finale at a press conference yesterday.
When discussing how Allen's background as a Christian church singer could influence his chances, he dismissed it by saying that the final decision “has to do with talent. It’s not about religion or all that stuff.”

Lambert hopes "people would vote based on what they hear. It's an equal opportunity situation."
Damn right!
Adam commented that he didn't feel his theater experience helped him in the competition. "This isn't theater so I don't see how it matters at all. We both have experience," he said.
Kris continued by saying, "I have just as much experience as he has — I just wasn't in Wicked."

As they both prepare for the show, Allen is simply going to rehearse and try and get ready while Glambert is "going to order a really big room service breakfast. Something with lots of hollandaise." Then, off to get ready! "I have a very messy bathroom situation. Kris has like three products and I have every product I can get my hands on."
Adam summed it up for both of them, "At this point we both feel like we've already won."

I want Kris Allen to win. I would buy his cd and listen to it from beginning to end. I just don't see that happening with Adam. I could download a song of his from limewire, put it on my ipod, but never put it on a playlist. He's a great performer, his talent just doesn't resonate with me. Too much screechy maybe.

Adam is phenomenal, however there is no way that Kris is being catty or jealous. He is the most humble guy I've seen this year, and he's super talented. He changes songs up as much as Adam AND is able to play instruments like no tomorrow. I don't mind which wins, as they are both lovely but I do believe that there are quite a few fans out there, and most of the older crowd don't dig the screaming. Danny's votes will go mostly to Kris, we'll see how it pans out.

Anybody BUT ADAM. Adam needs to perform on Broadway. American Idol is for pop artists not drag queens who scream their lungs out and call it singing. Danny should have been in the finals..and Adam should have went home when he was in the bottom three.
Adam, hands down will win, but I will buy Kris's cd first. It's obvious Adam's great stage presence is largely due to his theater experience. Why does he act like theater experience is a bad thing? No one cares if he's gay. He is respectful and talented.

Adam says "this isn't theater"? That is exactly what all of his performances have been. He has been way more cabaret than "rock and roll" this whole season. I don't think Adam really has a clue about rock music. He lost all of his rock cred when he sang Believe by Cher. What a joke.
P.S. no one has done the glam rock screaming crap since the early 80's and God I hope it doesn't come into style again. Gross.
Perez - you're doing Adam a disservice by galvanizing support because he's gay. You'd achieve a meaningful victory if Adam won based solely on his talent. i.e. his sexual preference should have nothing to do with it.

Adam puts on a different character for every song–he's acting a role. (dare I say overacting) He has a big range and trained voice–but so do all the background singers on the show. It doesn't mean that they are meant for pop stardom. With Kris, you feel like you know who he in through his music. I don't get that from Adam. He's technically good but I don't feel his soul.

Perez. Kris was really sweet tonight. He said, "Me and Adam decided we wouldn't compete. We just came out here and gave you a show." I think he is an angel. They are really good friends and their mothers are friends. Adam is in a class by himself. As Simon said, "He's a world class star." The song Kara wrote for them SUCKED. It really sucked. I think Kris is going to get a contract and he is going to work with some good producers and be really fine. He is definitely going to stick around. But Idol belongs to Adam. He was the superior talent. His voice and his vocal control is just awesome.
