The Final Idols Talk!
Adam Lambert and Kris Allen shared some final thoughts about tonight's Idol finale at a press conference yesterday.
When discussing how Allen's background as a Christian church singer could influence his chances, he dismissed it by saying that the final decision “has to do with talent. It’s not about religion or all that stuff.”

Lambert hopes "people would vote based on what they hear. It's an equal opportunity situation."
Damn right!
Adam commented that he didn't feel his theater experience helped him in the competition. "This isn't theater so I don't see how it matters at all. We both have experience," he said.
Kris continued by saying, "I have just as much experience as he has — I just wasn't in Wicked."

As they both prepare for the show, Allen is simply going to rehearse and try and get ready while Glambert is "going to order a really big room service breakfast. Something with lots of hollandaise." Then, off to get ready! "I have a very messy bathroom situation. Kris has like three products and I have every product I can get my hands on."
Adam summed it up for both of them, "At this point we both feel like we've already won."

Ok, I have never commented before, but I have to say I think that regarding the debate about whether kris or adam should win- why does anyone's sexual preference come into play? I like adam more than kris, because I like his style of singing better but I think they are both talanted and I don't understand why when we are talking about a SINGING competition, people are judging based off of personal life?! And as far as people being offended that Adam is gay-
1) if you don't personally believe in his lifestyle-you are totally allowed to have a choice in that matter- but so does he.
2) if you are using the bible as your reason you don't support his lifestyle- once again cool. But you have to be honest and say the same scripture that condemns homosexuality ALSO condemns fornication- so you better not be having sex before marriage; gambling, adultry, drunkeness etc. And this does NOT mean god hates any person. So it is great is you use the bible as your guide in life. I personally am a christian and follow this in my life, but I think it is hypocritical for anyone to use the bible as their EXCUSE for their stand on the gay/lesbian/gay marriage etc if they don't follow every bible command themselves. AND the bible also says to love your neighbor as yourself, so you may not personally agree with a LIFESTYLE choice, whether it be sex before marriage, gay, drunkeness etc but you don't have a right to judge a PERSON. So after that longwinded speech, I hope adam wins.
I love Kris although Adam hits notes that NObody else can hit. I just would MUCH rather be sang to by Kris. He can saranade me anytime! His voice is sexier!

I think Kris should win, but I actually think Adam would fare better if he came in 2nd place. He wouldn't have the constraints placed on him that the winner does in terms of recording contracts. Whatever happens, Adam will do just fine.

Also, I think Adam is better without the AI liberty-steeling-contract. He is now known, discovered, and he better be free to explore his talent and extraverted personality.

Liza (#24), give me a break. Perez is notoriously shallow, yes. He lives in Hollywood and is a gossip blogger. Duh! But he actually has great taste in music. I truly believe that both Adam and Kris are really good guys and friends. (Not everyone's as bitchy as Perez!!! sorry, but it's true) Anyway, Adam's got to win. His talent has nothing to do with being gay. Talent is talent and he's got it, and looks and charisma and STAR POWER in spades. Kris is going to do well and I will certainly buy his album, but don't think he's the best of the best. For the record, I am a devout Christian, I live in the bible belt and I adore everything that Adam Lambert is. He's a great guy and a one-of-a-kind talent.

I think most of us stopped caring about AI two or three seasons ago. It really is just a popularity contest now & not a talent contest. It's about time it pulled the plug. If I was still into it, I'd vote for Kris, just because I don't think that Adam has it to become a pop singer. I think he'd be amazing in whatever theater production he would be in, but a pop career is really not in the cards for him.

I saw Idol for the first time ever tonight. What a stupid show! But I did like both performers. It was clear to me that Adam should win, based not just on singing ability, but on performance. It's really stretching to say that someone who can hit the high and low notes is screeching. Kris was good, very likable. However, both were given an awful, stupid song to perform and Kris seemed really strained and didn't show much enthusiasm (he was a bit awkward). Adam was much better, all three songs.
Sad that people have already turned this into an exercise in gay (Adam) vs. Christian (Kris) bashing. Does it really matter? Seems the second place winner does better and has more freedom to make their own career choices.

I am and have always been on Team Kris. I like Adam, but in moderation. Why does he feel the need to shriek in every song? It really gets annoying. If he didn't do that I would like him a lot more, not as much as Kris, but more than I do right now. There's just something that I really like about Kris. And to all of these people talking about Adam being gay…. So what if he is? I do agree though that Perez is getting a bit obnoxious about his promoting Adam. Now- the contest. Adam is a great performer- he pours every bit of himself into every performance. He strives to be great and to give a great show. And yet he is humble. I hope he stays that way. I think Paula was right when she said he could end up being iconic.
Chris has really bloomed in recent weeks. He has come out of his shell and has really shown great talent. His voice is so pure! I love listening to him sing.
The contest could go either way. They are two very different singers and it comes down to taste. I dont think sexuality or religion will affect the outcome of this and if people try to make it that way, they are making something fun into something ugly.
I am an AVID American Idol fan and follow the winners and losers after the show. They are both great BUT if Adam wins his career will not be as good as it could be if he loses. Adam does not fit into the package that American Idol likes to package their winners as. He will end up doing an album that isn't him, or fighting so much about the creative aspect that they write him off and don't produce him the right way. I think for both of their careers to be as successful as they can possibly be Kris needs to win. I love Adam, but I voted for Kris last night.
I'm from Arkansas so I've rooted for Kris but from a musicians stand point there have been times when Adam has been better. Here's the thing…Regardless of who wins, both will probably land record deals. Adam will do better in concerts but I don't think he will see much radio play. Kris will be all over the radio but he needs to step up his stage presence and look like hes having fun instead of about to shit his pants. Both are great, have done extremly well and no matter who wins, both are going to reap the benefits and go on to do great things in music. If anything they will have this expirence to look back on and that's way more than most, especially for someone from Arkansas.

Not a Lambert fan and haven't been all season. I find he is the most OVERRATED idol contestant ever. He is EXTREMELY self indulgent and screams/screeches; point is, his voice is unpalatable, even unlistenable at times. When he sings my tv is on mute. I don't know why he wasn't called out by the judges early on; too bad, he may have had a chance. I think he has lost momentum and don't think he will win. If he does win, he will be the new Fantasia. Kris is okay; very musical, diverse, humble and appealing. But neither are that fabulous imo.
