It will certainly be a long day for American Idol fans as they wait and wonder who will be crowned the next Idol champ tonight.
You know who we are rooting for and we hope most of you agree!
But what if we could know for sure before the broadcast who's gonna win?
Someone else thought the same thing and where there is a will, there is a way.
In the digital age, with the click of a few buttons, you can learn everything you've ever wanted to know about your favorite Idols using your favorite search engine. But those clicks can be calculated and tallied and by analyzing Internet search trends, a winner can be "easily" predicted.
Every American Idol winner for the last three seasons has been the leader of online searches for weeks leading up to the finale. The analysis of this season almost guarantees an Adam Lambert win, as he has dominated the search competition since the beginning of the season.
Of course, this is still reality TV, so anything could happen.

no…according to dial idol Kris received 1million more calls than Adam. Add the crazy sex-driven tween girls texting and those numbers more than double. But then look at DWTS and Shawn Johnson. Everybody predicted Gilles to win, but that backfired as well. I smell an upset tonight with Kris coming out on top. No pun intended. I still think Adam will have a better career than Kris.
no its not reliable because alot of people heard about Adam Lamberts drag photos and wanted to see for themselves. Curiosity and popularity are not necessarily the same thing. Adam may well win tonight, but this is not a good predictor given the interest in the "Adam gay photos"

The method is not reliable. Just because there is an interest in something doesn't mean that it is always a positive interest. People are interested in the scandal surrounding Adam. Is he or isn't he gay? Or it could be people who've heard the name plenty of times but wanted to know what the big deal was. Putting faith in a search engine makes no sense, logically.
i'm sorry, but i really don't like adam. yeah, he has a different voice, but i don't think he's right for american idol. either way, though, he'll have a long, great career.

Many polls say Adam but many blogs show "crazy" people are voting against Adam because he is not as conservative as Chris…let's say it that way. One woman wrote on a blog that she voted for Chris 4000 times last week, in an attempt to defeat Adam. DialIdol usually predicts correctly, & they had Kris ahead 1.1% throughout the whole night, although at that percentage it can really go either way.

So being a statistician I happen to know that predictions using internet traffic, if done right, can be very reliable. There are a lot of things we use internet traffic to predict like stock prices, shopping patterns and even the outcome of political races.

I think Adam and Kris are 2 completely different artists and both are great at what they do. Personally I find Adam's screaming annoying, but he's talented otherwise and will make money for a while, until people move on from his genre…but what ever, they'll both make an album and Idol will destroy both of their orginality in the process so who ever wins good luck with that.

ZabaSearch also has Adam winning by greater than a 56% to 44% margin with 100 million votes cast! ZabaSearch projected David Cook to be the winner last year, Jordin Sparks the year before and also Taylor Hicks in 2006!

having said that, it might not be totally accurate for this season as many people have taken to the internets to ferret out information about Adam's sexuality, although maybe that much more gossip coverage lead to him getting the most votes as he's in the most peoples heads.

I have watched this season beginning to end and think that Kris is definitely the most talented. He sings songs that people can listen to for all occasion and is a true artist.
