Someone's murdered Sydney - again!
Despite unprecedented secrecy, it's been revealed that the body found floating Sunset Boulevard style in the pool in the first episode of the new seroes belongs to Laura Leighton (Sydney), and the finger is pointed at all the show's principals, her ex Michael in particular.
Her death will be a major plot point all season long.
But, the real culprit might actually be Heather Locklear for refusing a reprisal role in the reboot, and forcing the major rewrite.
There is SOME good news, though!
In true soap opera style, Sydney will return via flashbacks the rest of the season that little by little reveal the details of her death.
And there you have it, folks.

I couldn't be happier that they are bringing the show back. I wish Heather was returning too. The original cast was so great. I loved Dynasty, but I thought Melrose Place too it to the next level. Will always love the scene where Heather's character slaps Alison right across the face AT WORK for correcting her in front of their boss at a meeting and Heather says, "Do that again, B*tch and you won't even be able to get a job bagging groceries by the time I'm through with you". It was great.
What's up with that picture is what I want to know. It looks like a Sears portrait.

How stupid. Why even bring her back just to take her away right away. While I want to hold judgment back on the show, they better be finding a way to be fun while being over-the-top @ the same time.

This sounds liek Veronica Mars. The whole …person is dead first episode and keeps appearing in flashbacks to solve her murder
Actually, I have the script and the rich kid is first accused of killing her b/c he was the last one to see her but at the end of the first episode, the guy that plays the chef, is seen sitting at the beach throwing away bloody clothes…so ya just don't know!
They had to kill Sydney… Sydney was my favourite character, she was the only interesting character… Allison was lame why not kill her.. and honestly all these actors were free to re-do this series again?
I can definitely confirm this is true. My husband and I were in Las Vegas earlier this month. At the MGM Grand, they have this CBS studios place where you can preview t.v. show pilots and rate them. (You don't know what they are until you're already signed up and in the preview room.) Lo and behold, we got to preview this pilot. And let me tell ya… It. Was. TERRIBLE. I mean, just awful! I was honestly kind of excited when I found out what it was, until about 10 minutes in when I realized that it wasn't going to get any better. And Ashley Simpson's character is just downright CREEPY. She's this nosy neighbor who just hangs around the pool all the time. It was very odd. The plot is weak, most of the characters are not very likable, and there's a wannabe Heather Locklear character who grated at everyone's nerves. It was honestly just crap.
Eh… Sydney died in the old Melrose Place.
haha, I was totally thinking Twin Peaks, too. Except Twin Peaks was awesome
Sydney was not Michael's ex…..she was Michael's wife, Jane's sister….
and I don't wanna see Heather Locklear either….I just watched Flirting with Forty….the swollen lips and botox faces look ridiculous….if only they knew how stupid they actually looked……get over it already…..
btw….I loved the old 'Melrose Place'……don't make poor ol Spelling roll over in his grave………
