My Name is Earl star Ethan Suplee took to his Twitter to discuss the unexpected cancellation of the show by NBC.
"Just got the call that My Name Is Earl has been canceled. They sure did take their time with that decision or rather informing us of it." said the actor who just launched a Twitition aimed to entice FOX to pick up the show.
Sulpee commented, "After having a working relationship with someone for four years, it would have been nice to get a call two weeks ago, or a week ago, saying 'Hey, this isn't going to work.' Or even months ago, when they were saying 'Earl' is going to be on NBC.' If they'd said, 'We really don't know,' we could have done something."
Four years is a good run but they did deserve some warning!

If people really liked it THAT much it wouldn't be in this situation. This is the way the biz works….I know that and I am no show biz expert. Surely the cast must have been aware of the ratings week by week and the writers and producers had plenty of time to make any changes to try to make the show more appealing, didn't they? I don't get why all the fuss about this particular show. It's not like some major injustice..as if the network is depriving its viewers of a culturally or educationally valuable program to pursue audience share or something. IF that were true, I'd understand.
I would rather watch this show than Parks and Recreation!

I just can't wait to see how many seasons of shows they will have to create and cancel just to get back to the ratings Earl had. Then again television is a disposable world, they still believe they can get rid of a show and replace it with something better only to fall flat on their faces most times.
The only reason I watched Earl is for the scenes with Jaime Pressly as Joy. I love that character. Jaime stole every scene she was in.

Yea I'd like to but…I'm over it! It's just not as funny nor is the idea as fresh as it was years ago. I know actors need to keep their thousands of thousands a week paying jobs, however; the name of that game is called Life! Move on all…
This is the most OVERATED show that ever was on TV. The storylines were uninteresting. Please leave this show out of TV.

I LOVE my name is earl!! my friend turned me onto it 3 years ago. its so funnny. why the fuck do they have to cancel all the good shows!!! Jason Lee is so sexy in a dirty kind of way and Ethan Suplee is super cute. I love Joys ghetto attitude! it can't be cancelled!!!
i really hate it when networks just flat out cancel shows. If your going to cancel a show, fine. but at least give 2 or 3 episodes to wrap up the story lines. i miss pushing daisies and carpoolers (tear)
I have never gotten into this show
hate to say it but that show jumped the shark years ago…probably during season 2.
It has moments of funny but mostly it is just tired and rehashes laughs show after show without much new.
I say let it go!

FOX has not made any statements of interest, and would have by now. The show is probably to expensive to produce.

I absolutely love My Name Is Earl, and it seriously pisses me off that NBfuckingC cancelled this show. Probably so they can afford to pay some not-going-to-be-worth-my-time-mentioning overrated actors (2 specifically, 1 a bitch, the other a total prick), for their highly overrated show. ( How original to produce a show, about another show, and convieniant to bring in other overbloated "stars", just to keep this show in production!!! FUCK THIS SHIT!!!

Earl is one of THE best shows on TV. Maybe there are only a few of us smart enough to appreciate how hilarious, wise, outrageous and sweet it is all at once? The cast is amazing and so is the writing. I have a feeling if they hadn't sent Earl to prison in Season 3, this wouldn't have happened. Season 4 was wonderful! I'll be doing what I can to Save Earl.
