Terminator Salvation Opens Big!

The Christian Bale freak out flick, Terminator Salvation, opened to a warm welcome on Thursday, gaining $13.3 million dollars, with $3 million in just midnight sales alone.
It's reported that over the 4 day holiday weekend, the film is to make somewhere near $60 million dollars more, giving it a grand total in the $70 million zone.
With numbers like that, it's very likely it will take the number one spot at the box office.

i saw it, and it was pretty good. they had a reeeally good Arnold look-alike in there for a few seconds. i had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't him!

Actually, Perez, that number is not that great - $60M over a holiday weekend opening for a movie like this, when Star Trek made $75M over a regular weekend? Terminator's numbers are disappointing; without Arnold, not as many people will see it.

I saw the movie on Thursday, and love it…! I'm a big terminator fan and really enjoy the movie.

yepp i will, though i will have to wait a bit longer. terminator-addict. though i agree, that 1 and (especially)2 are the best ones so far. (though die hard 4 is the best of that series). so.. anxious for the next parts. i'm going to turn in my grave when terminator 9 and 10 will be published

The online ticket sales leader is Night at the Museum. Some people are predicting close to a tie for the two movies.

and Night at the museum….don't waste your money.! The movie never delivers, it's boring, slow, predictable. I took my 8,9, 12 year old children along with another children from the 'hood, they all agreed it was boring…!
As it should be. Loved that freaking movie and the end was ok, I would have done it better. But than wacked Star Trek that's for sure. I want Christian between my legs, but shit, hes taken and a married man. Good for him, and he and his wife look so cute as a couple. Granted I would look better on his arms.
Already seen it and seeing it again, I was to busy listening to screaming kids in the theater making all kinds of niose and running a muck in the theater. Dame Parents let their kids run the theater. But Christian looked yummy yummy. I heard that Night at the M was taking the number 1 spot.
Saw it at its midnight opening; it was fantastic.
And Mollopolli, it wasn't a look-alike; it was CGI.

First of all Christian is the person to hand pick Sam to be in the movie, and secondly Christian acting was way better than Sam's than the guy who plays Christian's younger Father was the second best and the Terminator half man was third when it came to acting chops.
No thanks. I'd rather go see that $70 zombie film that's wowing them at Cannes called Colin.
special effects were insane … very well done. The plot was a bit dry, it seemed like the movie went to fast. Also Sam Worthington seemed like he was the protagonist rather than Bale. I give special effects 12 out of 10 and plot a 6 out of 10. It could have been so much better.

I just can't imagine Terminator w/o Arnold, and I'm not a Bale fan at all. I'll wait for the DVD.
Saw it last night and it was great. I was a little worried after the critics scrapped it, but it was a lot of fun. Its not meant to be some deep drama - theres supposed to be a lot of shit blowing up - and there was! Give it a chance and see the movie - you wont be disappointed if you go in WITHOUT your preconceived notions.
I'm going to see it tonight.
