Do you think "Maybe California" by Tori Amos might be a song/title that can be worked into this somehow? It works as a slogan, even as the theme of the song is mothers coming together to restrain one from committing suicide.

    2. 2

The voters of California voted and it passed. Done. Why do people think they are entitled to overturn a proposition on a ballot? I dont like Obama, should i ask the Supreme Court to overturn the vote?

    3. 3

      NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    4. 4

      Oh, quit hating on him…

    5. 5

Amazing finally you are doing something PRO gay… so will you bring Teddy along for this public display of love???

    6. 6

    7. 7

Re: Poostains – You're an idiot. Prop 8 is to BAN gay marriage. If it passes, gay marriage is banned; not allowed. You said, " doesn't pass just to spite you Perez." If it doesn't pass, gay marriage would be legal.. Perez would be happy. Seriously, you make no sense in your logic.

As for this rally. There's on going on in my town at 5:30pm on Tuesday night.. I'd go to it if I my Highshool Graduation wasn't on the same night at 6:00pm. :\

    9. 9

OK, Haters… How does this affect your life at all when 2 people who love each other are given the right to support and live with each other with the same laws as everyone else. Rejecting gay unions is simply bigotry and discrimination, clearly acceptable for "poostains" who includes a racial slur in thier comment, but isn't man (or woman) enough to use a real name or pic.
In reply to, "I am against prop 8" and "I hope Prop * doesn't pass just to spite you Perez"… make up your minds, You both are contradicting yourselves!

    10. 10

i hope you get hit on the face with a used tampon while you're there. you're not a champion of gay rights you're a hater, a fat fucking nasty hater. i personally think gays should have rights but you're making a lot of folks hate the cause douchebag

    11. 11

Though I have been raised as a Baptist, & believe in the Bible's truth…it is NOT for me to be judge or jury on anyone..I say to each his own…had I been born other than a heterosexual woman, I may think differently..I dance to my own beat & expect everyone else to do the same. I think Perez is a talented, terrific person, and I wish you the best Perez…I CANNOT condem any one person for their sexual preferences..So do I think that Prop. 8 should go forth? I think the government needs to keep their noses out of peoples private lives and let us live them as WE see fit, not what they tell us is right or wrong. Let whoever marry whoever…It does NOT affect my life, so as I said before, to each his own.

    12. 12

NOT Gonna happen, the voters decided, so get over it, it's really not a "rights issue" any ways, is a moral issue, let it go and do live your life, as you see it, accept the votes decision, just like Kris over adam, next!

    13. 13

Just like there are requirements to be a lawyer, to get a drivers license, to fly a plane, there are requirements for marriage, a religious institution by the way, requirements, man woman, of your own free will, end of story ;-)

    14. 14

i agree 100% do wat u got 2 do!! luv ya perez!!

    15. 15

Re: Laura B – Thank you for pointing that out.

Oh how clever! Not Prop 8, but Prop H8te.

That's really going to get a nice conversation of the issues going, huh? Nothing ever gets done through childish name calling.

    20. 20

Re: trimspa – AMEN THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

    21. 21

Re: ivana jercough – educate yourself before you speak your mind. being against prop 8 means that you are in favor of gay marriage. here is the real question: why would you care if a 'queer' wanted to be married? doesn't everyone deserve the right to be happy?

    22. jilly says – reply to this

      22

We already voted on this! Why when things are passed are they then sent to the supreme court? why even bother voting? Although maybe I can have them review why we elected that lying empty suit for president…

    23. 23

The arguement aside, as I don't live there and don't really care if gays can marry, if you want to go ahead, what do I care. But the courts interjecting could be a very bad precedent. The issue was put up to vote for a reason and that vote was heard, overturning it because you disagree with the vote is not a court issue. It should be put up to vote again or the CA legislative branch should write a law, pass it if they can, and then a court can get involved as to the constitutionality of it or not. You've skipped a very important step, designed to keep people in those positions from obtaining too much power. Not a good idea.

    24. 24

You cannot put the rights of a minority up to a majority vote. Most likely it will be overturned and everyone in Cali will have equal rights…whether you like it or not :D

    25. 25

¡Buscad ayuda! ¡pronto!

    26. 26

Who fucking cares at this point what you fucking say. You are so bias and instead of uniting you separate.

    27. 27

I wish I could be there, I am in Kentucky though.. you will be in my thoughts for sure, I hope the measure doesn't pass and Prop h8te is abolished!!!

    28. 28

Please. what's wrong with people who are gay? Love is a force of nature. they dont deside to be gay. It's really said that it isnt already legal. Im glad that I live in a country where all people are free in their sexuality. This is just stupid. I SUPPORT!

    29. 29

I don't have a problem with gay marriage, but I DO have a problem with the will of the people being overturned just because a violent, hateful minority decides they don't like how the vote turned out. I think it says a lot that the only states who have legalized gay marriage have done it through the courts and NOT through a fair vote by the citizens..why should the will of the people be ignored just so some state officials can make a political statement?

States rights means that the people vote. As much as some people like to twist the constitution to fit their purposes, marriage is NOT a civil right and thus this is a social issue, just like abortion and gun control. Each state's citizens should be given a vote on all three. What is happening in Cali right now is political pandering, nothing more. If the Supreme Court overthrows the people's vote, it will just open the door for more angry mobs to get what they want by threatening people and rioting.

    30. 30

Yes, there has been a lot of talk about gay rights this and that. But if you think about it, waaay back in the day when WOMEN wanted to vote and have equal rights, they staged parades and get togethers to voice their opinions. Then when black people wanted equal rights, they did the same thing. Sure people got tired of hearing it over and over, but that is the only way to make a difference. They got what they wanted even though people disagreed. Now its the G&Ls that need thier voice heard. IF two people who arent married can be considered common law in some states (which is against the bible too isnt it? Co-habitating with out being married, living in sin..etc) then why cant a gay couple have the same rights? And share insurance like a married couple and tax breaks and so on. Everyone has a right, and everyone has the right to be happy. And doesnt it say somewhere that all men are created equal? But then it seems to be equal with Conditions. And thats not fair.
I hope that all states allow gay marriage. Everyone IS created equal, its now time for the government to catch up.

[re=3818362]Re: Renfamous You wrote: "I don't have a problem with gay marriage, but I DO have a problem with the will of the people being overturned just because a violent, hateful minority decides they don't like how the vote turned out/re] " ** Violent and hateful minority"?! I dont remember hearing about a group of gays beating up or killing a straight guy! Did I miss that somewhere, but OH, I have heard of homophobic morons beating up and killing several gay people. Who is violent and hateful?????

    32. 32

i laugh at everyone who is so appalled that a GAY celebrity blogger is blogging about gay rights. if you dont like perez, get off his site. if you dont like gays, stop visiting a site run by a gay man who happens to be gay. FUCK HATERS. GAY RIGHTS NOW. i love you perez!!

    33. 33

why did people invent marriage in first place?

I don't really care if it's legal or not, but i sure would if my girlfriend would want to get married.

    34. 34

thanks for the info! ill definately be at the rally in sac

    35. 35

I support you!! I am not against anything that will allow people to have love and happiness in their lives!! love ya perez!

    36. 36

It makes me uncomfortable that people commenting are so free with their hate. If you don't like it, don't go. Why did you even take the time to comment on this? I pray that you cease to exist.

awww! if i was still in LA i would totally come and support you guys!! but since i'm not.. i will be sending my support in spirit!!

    38. 38

No one cares about f@@ags you fake pretend gay. How come we never see Perez with a man? Because he's only internetgay for the webhits - fat poser.

    39. 39

This would be a nice time for the local police to stock up on tear gas! No homos on parade, except for mardi gras!

I say a beat down in in order.

    40. 40

this is the stupidest shit ever- this has already been decided, why is there even another opportunity to re-vote… I hate Obama lets re-vote on that shit again toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    41. 41

ummmm why would I go there?

Oh wait……..because I need to pity the poor little gays……

    42. 42

One has to wonder why homophobes, the most hilarious of which think gays are getting TOO many rights (ha!), come to Perez Hilton's website to comment. You realize that just being here makes you bi-curious. Muah!!!!

    43. 43

i am for gay marriage i think if 2 people are in love then yes let them get married, and for all those out there who think marriage is "sacred" and should only be with man and woman, this country has the highest rate of cheaters divorcees and spouse abuse then any other. if marriage was really sacred none of that would even exist, and you would just be with the one you were meant to be.

    44. 44

I am praying for a fair and just outcome.
      Equality for all!

    45. 45

Re: lindseyXann – He meant the Supreme Courts decision you fucktard. You knew exactly what he meant too. Go rally with your queers.

    46. 46

Gay men and women should be able to marry, i mean its not like its the governments business or how theyll be affected, and im saying this cuase i ave gay friends. My friend micheal and kent were supposed to get married but then this shit came up. and guess what? Micheal is passed away now ad he couldnt even marry hid boyfriend before he passed. SO FUCKK YU HATERS!

    47. 47

oh by the way….im fourteen and i can accept this. and theres 40 year olds that are prejudice. whos more mature now?

    48. 48

I'll be at the Long Beach site representing for all my friends out there who deserve to have the same rights I do. Like it or not it's only fair and the right thing to do.

    49. 49

Whats wrong with you people, how can you even leave comments like that.
there is nothing wrong with two people loving eachother, people cant help who they are and who they fall in love with, all we can do is live our life to the fullest and the way that makes US happy.
If YOU dont like gay marriage then tough, just turn the other way and keep to yourself. this is the 21st century and people are free to be who they want to be where they want to be and be with whom ever they want to be with.
we all have a freedom and we all just need to except eachother and live together in peace . all this negativity does is hurt peoples feelings and thats not a positive way to live life
dont be ignorant , just live together
vote yes to pop 8, everyone deserves the right to be happy no matter what you think is right

    50. 50

Re: Poostains – Prop 8 DID pass, and he wants it to fail…you got it as backwards as you are a person. Go die,

    51. 51

Perez you and every other person should be allowed to have rights!!!!!!!! God loves all his children straight, gay, bi, lesbian! he loves us all!!!!!!!! and I think it does not matter if you are in love with someone of the opposite sex or the same sex love is love and I believe in supporting that! Good Job Perez!!!!!!!!!

    52. 52

and by the way God does love all ppl, he loves sinners and saints….its the sin though….all ppl have sin….and not that some of u care….cause you just like to through God in there to do i dont know what…..im just trying to raise my voice to!

    53. 53

Re: aamezi – You are so, unbelievably ignorant if you think children are able to be "convinced" or "persuaded" to be gay. I know because I AM gay - it's in your brain, it's how you are born. If your child is gay, they've been gay their whole lives - your sexuality is a GUT instinct that has nothing to do with what society tells you is ok. The fact that Californian gay couples can't get married is purely due to discrimination and ignorance. Letting gay couples be equal will NEVER affect the ratio of gays in the population.

    54. kmix says – reply to this

      54

Wow! Really?! Most of the comments below make me ill. I cant believe that people still think this way but whatever thats your belief. Seriously though, who the hell do you ignorant ass people think you are? You feel justified in opposing prop 8 however the statements that you've made just proves how ignorant and, lets face it, stupid you folks are. "Poostains" calling Perez a beaner is way out of order. I want to call you a name but your user name is pretty appropriate. You are a giant *uckin poo stain.

    55. 55

Re: aamezi – It is surprising to me that people somehow think homosexuals chose to be that way. I didn't choose to be a heterosexual. I just happen to be. Your kids are not going to turn into homosexuals because two gay people who love each others are allowed to get married. They are either gay or they aren't. There is no going around it.

    56. 56

why would a queer want to be married anyway.

For the same reason a straight person would you idiot!

      I am against prop 8

Same as Hilton then - so you also think it is wrong to suppress people based on prejudice?

California should make some laws suppressing the blacks - we all know they are best suited to be slaves, don't we?

    57. 57

The voters of California voted and it passed. Done. Why do people think they are entitled to overturn a proposition on a ballot?

Well the small number of badly educated prejudicial people who actually showed up to vote for the suppression of others should have expected that.

How would you like it if they passed a law to keep you in a chain gang for the rest of your life, eh?

    58. 58

people should just let others live there lives just because you dont want to marry doesnt mean other people dont! go prop 8!

    59. 59

I think it is great that you attracting attention to this topic and you use your fame to get people engaged in this important conversation. People have to understand that there are alternative family models to the patriarchal heterosexual old fashioned. It doesn't matter who marries who as long as they are happy. And why do so many people think they have the right to judge other person's private life. we all just pursuit joy and happiness. So why exclude somebody? Go on, Paris! Good job!

    60. 60

No offense to anyone out there (sorry - I just couldn't resist saying it…lol) but IMHO - you give up your right to get married when you are gay. It's one or the other. Should gays have equal rights (legal situations such as insurance and wills etc) as hetero married couples? Yes. Should gays have a civil ceremony equivelent to marriage? Yes. Should they be allowed to be married in God's eyes? No. Bottom line folks.

    61. 61

It's not about wanting to be married or not. Everyone should have the freedom to do so. It's ignorant to be against a proposition because of your prejudice and dislike of others. I'm straight but I still believe in equality by need. By the way, psychological studies show that most people who are "homophobic" as you all seem to be, are only homophobic because they are subconsciously homosexual themselves. I dare you all to reevaluate your lives.

    62. 62

YOU'RE NOT A GAY ACTIVIST PEREZ…THIS IS A CELEBRITY GOSSIP WEBSITE!!!

    64. 64

Re: mattvoyager – I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU!!! I use to log on several times per day and every day but I log on maybe once a week because I'm sooooo tired of seeing pro gay shit on almost every post. That's a good way of turning people against gays–shove your gay propaganda on people! On the topic above–I'm glad they didn't overturn the decision! They got it right the first time and there's no need to change it so GET OVER IT ALREADY YOU WHINY FAG.
