"Project Sunshine is a nonprofit organization that provides free educational, recreational, and social programs to children facing medical challenges and their families.
Project Sunshine sends volunteers to visit hospitalized children to provide arts and crafts, tutoring, reading, nutritional cooking and special events. With 10,000 volunteers in 75 cities across the United States, Canada, China, Israel, Kenya, and Puerto Rico, Project Sunshine serves 60,000 children each year in 150 medical facilities.
Project Sunshine works with each hospital to determine where our help is needed most and sends chapters of volunteers to fill these needs. Chapters are comprised of a core group of individuals who volunteer their time, energy and talents to provide services for hospitalized children. Our volunteers are a diverse group of college students, lawyers, teachers, and individuals of all backgrounds and ages. Chapters range in size from as few as five volunteers to as many as 300. Project Sunshine encourages volunteers to participate as often as they feel comfortable, whether it is several days a week, once a month, or at special service events once per year."

How much did you give mario????????
Yeah, isn't Project Sunshine the org who brought out the Caylee doll?
Yes, please do give to this great cause folks. This past Feb. my 5 year old son was in the hospital for seven days after his appendix burst. While there, he had volunteer musicians come to his bed and play songs for him and got him singing with guitars, tamboureens, ect. Also, he had an art teacher (who was also volunteering) bring him a canvas and oil paints and gave him a mini painting lesson right there in his hospital bed. These are amazing people who give generouosly of their time and this effort should be totally encouraged. I know that these activities definetley (sp) helped my son not to be so scared about being in the hosptial. Also they kept his mind off the pain while he was engaged in them. A very worthwhile cause indeed!
That's Brett Gardner in the picture. He's the Yankees' fourth outfielder.
Thanks for always posting about these various charities. Hopefully it helps them get extra donations!
