After weeks and weeks of auditions, global phenom Susan Boyle was once again competing on the stage of Britain's Got Talent.
Yes, she's got a new makeover. Yes, she just made it through to the finals. But, unfortunately, her performance was too measured and lackluster. It lacked passion and that spark that made her a viral superstar in the first place.
That's what we think, at least.

Overrated!! Diversity deserve more……
She is NOT overrated!! I think she was too nervous at the beginning but she has a wonderful voice and i know that se will sing beatiful the next time, i just hope she sings a different kind of song, no more songs of musicals!
Lovely but definitely nowhere near as exciting as the first performance.

the woman was clearly bricking it, she was off key at the beginning and hit a few duff notes throughout, but with the amount of pressure she's been under since her audition first aired is it any wonder? I think she did well, but I'm sure there are still better acts out there

Yes, she was off-key in a few places, but otherwise she gave a very nice rendition of Memories. In general Memories is a very difficult song to sing even for people trained in the musical theatre vocal style, so the fact that she managed to hit the high and the low notes is pretty great.
She definitely did not underwhelm and sang the ending very nicely!

im just happy that shes in the final.
she dosent seem to be after fame like most of the other semi-finalists thus deserves a shot at winning on saturday.

I never much cared for Susan Boyle. It's like she became famous because people were so shocked that a plain woman has some singing ability. Yes, average/unattractive people have talent too! If she had been a younger, more attractive woman with that voice, she would not have even made it past her initial audition, and no one would have seen her on tv or heard her. I don't much care for her overpowering vibrato. As far as this performance goes, the song choice was TERRIBLE for her. Memory is one of my favorite songs from a musical so I have nothing against the song. It just didn't suit her voice. Most Andrew Lloyd Webber songs require a large range from the singer and unfortunately, Susan Boyle doesn't have that range. She was having trouble with both the low and high notes. You could tell from the first phrase, how ill-suited the song was for her. Good for Susan Boyle for bringing some attention to the less-attractive but unfortunately, I don't think she will really break through.

Still a good performance. But you are right about the spark. She doesn´t seem so unique anymore.
Not as good as the previous performance, but it gave me the chills one more time!
The last note was beautiful…too bad the entire thing didn't make me feel all tingly

I think the pressure did get to her as there were a few mistakes but considering the circumstances she still sung amazingly well!!
It's her personality that wins people over too, if you'd have seen the interviews with her before/after she really is a special lady, humble and graceful!

I love SuBo. I don't think she under-performed. When she first started singing I thought, "No! Don't mess up!" but she fought back. I don't know if you watched the results show, but when she got through to the final she was ASTONISHED. She wasn't expecting anything, despite being a world-wide hit. THATS what makes her amazing. I don't know how anybody can have all this fame thrown upon them and still wiggly their hips at Piers.

Totally agree. She was not great. But Diversity! Their dance routine was immense! SO perfect and clever and VERY, VERY entertaining. Come on Perez. Check it out! DIVERSITY is the new black! ;o)

She sounded a little nervous at first which kinda threw her off. Of course she isn't going to sound the same as the first time we heard her, because upon watching that video we didn't know what to expect. Most people were expecting a horrible performance and were blew away. This time we are all expecting a exceptional performance, but it lacks momentum. It doesn't mean that she is worse than she was, it just means we already had the expectation. I think she is fabulous and very inspirational.
British people need to learn how to pronounce their syllables right!!!

She's an ok singer. I've heard much better. I just don't get the hype. That song is so easy to sing.. but she went out of tune a few times.

I wouldn't say it's difficult.. far from it, I found it one of ALW's easier songs to sing. Phantom is where it gets difficult.
A few bum notes at the start and she couldn't quite deliver. The judges (including Simon Cowell) decided not to mention the bum notes and lied about it being a great performance. Diversity the dance act that also made it through with Susan Boyle were much more deserved to be in the final. Maybe people should check them out on youtube instead?

She REALLY needs to work on her stage presence. Her form on the stage and when she's singing looks so unnatural and stiff.
I agree PH! Poor song choice and way overproduced. She needs to either do ALL THAT JAZZ to showcase her saucy side, or do something way classy, like something from SUNSET BLVD. All the acts were way overproduced! Keep it simple! Still very glad she got through though.
And she should have just said THANK YOU to Simon when he apologized.

I think that she had a rough start, but got back on track. also, it must be harder going up knowing that the world has been waiting. I think part of her fame is that she was just so awkward the first audition, and langly, and 'goofy' that she took everyone by surprise when she could sing. Wheras had she come out looking the part, if you will, then she may not have had as much internet fame. Of course I could be speaking out of my ass.
So, we’re all gonna sit back and pretend that this little video that everyone’s posting to their Facebook feed is just a heart warming tale of an underdog triumphing over the odds and ignore the fact that a woman walked out in front of an entire arena of judgmental “C” words and douchebags?
If people didn’t suck so bad, this woman would have walked out, NOT been dismissively greeted, sung and then been praised for the quality of her singing voice directly- and not via 3 “judges” telling her how surprised they are that she didn’t have poop come out of her mouth.
Underwhelms who? You? Who gives a flying fuck what Perez Hilton thinks? I think the song itself is a bit of a clunker and difficult to sing because of it's low range. But, she likes Elaine Paige and this is one of her signature songs from "Cats." I also think she had a hard time hearing the piped in music.
She was nervous. Hell I would be too if I had to follow that audition performance! She did very well though.
It's underwhelming to you because you built her up to be like the best singer ever just because she is not very attractive. But the minute she tries to make herself look presentable you fucking bad mouth her. Should I say the same thing about your loosing weight? I've heard just as good Broadway singers, that are far more attractive and the whole world isn't in shock and awe by them. God forbid and unattractive person has talent.
I think she was good, not great, but definitely deserved to make it to the next round.
She seems exhausted–drooping eyelids! She has a lovely voice, but she needs training with a pro to learn how to control it/timing etc.
This performance wasn't as wonderful as her "I dreamed a dream" from Les Miserables.
She started off really shaky but finished really strong. Overall, it was great!

I so agree with you Perez on this one that she indeed sucked! I think she's okay but highly overrated in my point of view. Most people can really sing one song but thats one song they probably practiced a million times. So to make my point the woman sucked and that was a poor choice in choosing that song.

The poor woman is under wayyyy too much pressure. She wasn't extraordinary in the first place - all the attention came from the fact that she doesn't LOOK like she should have that kind of a voice. And yes, she's a good singer. No, she isn't great. The beginning of that piece??? Musicality?? Breath support?!?
This wasn't bad, but I expected so much more from Susan after her extraordinary Les Miserables song.

Not perfect, but not bad by any means.
The performance started off a little shaky, but overall she did alright. It sounded like she was nervous. I definitely think her "I Dreamed A Dream" was a much superior vocal than this. I think Barbara Streisand does a great job with this song, but I have to tell you Perez, I love Epica's rendition of this song. They do this song justice more than any other. The frontwoman Simone Simmons also sings with some much projection, she makes you believe the story behind this song.
