11 People Killed In Music Festival Stampede In Morocco
At least 11 people were killed this weekend in a stampede during the final night of the Mawazine music festival in the Moroccan capital of Rabat.
So sad!
Both Kylie Minogue and Alicia Keyes had performed at the festival in the weeks prior to the incident, which draws over a million people to the city of Rabat annually.
70,000 people had gathered at the closing night of the festival to hear hometown sensation Abdelaziz Stati when a wire fence gave out while the crowd was leaving the festival grounds.
The crowd "surged towards one of the exits," which caused the stampede. Five women, four men and two children suffocated to death while being trampled by the mass exodus of concert goers.
Awful.

sooooo incredibly sad. think how scared those ppl must have been during this & all bcoz ppl have 2 behave like morons & can't even walk out of a venue properly & with a little patience. obviously not every1 behaved like idiots, but how hard is it 2 stop & think that maybe u should be careful when leaving bcoz with every1 pushing around, ppl will obviously get knocked over. it's not that hard

This reminds me of the Wal-Mart stampede that killed that man. But 11 people in this one?? Jeez, can't people be a little less selfish and a little more patient??
