"Midwest Pug Rescue - MN Division has been in operation since April 2006. We are 501c(3) approved. All pugs are kept in loving caring homes during foster care. All pugs are vet checked prior to any adoption.

We try our best to match the dogs with the needs, wants, personalities, and lifestyles of potential adopters to ensure a healthy, happy, and permanent home.

Midwest Pug Rescue - MN Division (MNMPR ) fosters pugs in the Twin Cities and throughout greater Minnesota.

Often, the pugs arrive at rescue through no fault of their own. Many MN MPR dogs have been surrendered by their owners due to unfortunate circumstances. Others have been given to us by rescue-friendly shelters or taken from puppy mills."

HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE A PUG?!?

    6. 6

I think pugs are very cute and they do make good pets. My friend had one. But I think the real problem is that this breed is born with medical problems that no doubt owners think is 'cute'. Their smashed face causes breathing difficulties for every single pug born. Pugs are so deformed through breeding that most need to have a C-section to give birth. It's sad that people can totally disregard an animal’s health just to make it look 'cute'. And it's even sadder that people adopt this breed, supporting the breeders.

Thank you Perez!!! I always donate to Little Angels Pug Rescue in LA, as well as many animal welfare groups. I'll make sure to add this one to my charity list. All of our pets are rescues and we love them all. Our pug has the best temperment by far, especially for a houseful of kids. He actually thinks he IS one of our kids. SOO CUTE.

Re: this may be rude but…
pugs have been breed for hundreds maybe thousands of years as companion dogs to Tibetan and Chinese emperors. They do have breathing difficulties and troubles with joints. Pugs deserve to be bred just like people with disabilities deserve to live a full life.
breeders should be given utmost respect because if you finda good one, they breed out bad qualities.
also, if you dump breeders, puppy mills will thrive.

Re: tinypixiexoxo – I don't think anyone should have a pug until they can be a healthy breed again. Of course they deserve to live, but you don't see people TRYING to give birth to humans with disabilities. So your comment makes no sense. Also, if you think breathing problems and C-sections are good qualities, you are seriously warped. Pugs thousands of years ago look nothing like today's pug. They have even changed from the last 100 years. And just so you don't make an uneducated statement again, this is not due to evolution. People are controlling pure breed dog’s physical looks.

I have three beautiful pugs. One an owner turn in, one left on my doorstep. Such great dogs and mine have not had any health problems. Don't forget about Orange County California's Pugs and Pals. They need homes for their Puggies.

Perez I have always loved you but now I love you even more! MPR is a great rescue and I'm so excited that you are sharing them with the world. I have 3 pugs, 2 of which are rescued. My baby (youngest pug) Queen Elizabeth Taylor was rescued from Prairie Pug Rescue in Kansas. All in all my fur-babies (Harley-9…his bday is today!!, Chico-4, and Queen ET-2) are blessings! Thanks for sharing MPR and helping all of the little furry angels out there that are looking for "forever" homes.

I belong to the MNMPR and have fostered for them. I was a failure on #6 and adopted him. A beautiful senior who was a puppy mill breeder most of his life. Pugs are wonderful companions and have such unique personalities. Many thanks for featuring our rescue.
