Prop 8 Reactions: Kim Kardashian Fights Against H8!

Kim Kardashian took to her official website to voice her disappointment on Tuesday morning's discriminatory ruling against gay and lesbian Americans.
She says:
"Today the California Supreme Court decided to uphold Prop 8, outlawing gay marriage in California. This really makes me sad. I thought we were more forward thinking than this, and I'm disappointed in the Supreme Court for being so closed minded. Everyone.. gay, straight, bisexual, transgendered, EVERYONE should have equal rights to marry who they want to. I have many gay friends and all I want is for them to be happy, yet this is just another obstacle in their way. Now they must continue fighting to be granted a basic civil right that many people take for granted. Shame on you, California! We must all continue to fight the h8!"

The STATE is secular and should NOT discriminate (not on the behalf or homophobic, religious and cultural groups). It's the tyranny of the majority.
Would the state ask Christians to decide on whether Muslims should be allowed to practice their religion, vote or hold government offices? No!
In the 1970s, 70% of Americans thought laws banning interracial marriages should be upheld. The state, rightfully so, did not listen to the public because it was a Civil Rights issue.

However he did not change the laws only the punishment for breaking them! So people, please get a few facts before blasting everyone in sight! Try reading Lee Strobel's excellent book 'The case for Faith'. Lee goes around the country and interviews various Scholars on various issues! Oh and lee though a Christian takes the role of "devils advocate" and he does the role quite well. He really challenges the scholars on various issues.

its all so interesting when you consider that it was 48% to 52% yet the majority are str8. So it seems that the tide is changing, but even so why is it that a population is being asked to decide whether gays can be treated the same as heteros. One would naturally expect that they would be like……well they are different so they must be kept separate…but where do you draw the line? Proposition 8 is outdated and its sad that it was passed. However, the fact of the matter is, today the court was ruling on whether it was constitutional for the citizens of California to amend their constitution. The answer to that is yes. American citizens should be able to amend the constitution, that is the whole premise of our country. It is extremely unfortunate that this ruling is affecting the civil rights of gay men and women and hopefully proposition 8 will be overturned eventually. People just need to realize what this ruling was actually about today.
