What's Next?????

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayLGBT

Tonight, we protest!

All over California (and across the U.S.), dozens of rallies will be held in reaction of the state Supreme Court's decision this morning to uphold Proposition 8.

Gay and lesbian residents of this state are being denied the same rights, privileges and protections that heterosexual couples have when they marry civilly.

That is NOT right! That is not fair! That is wrong wrong wrong!

This is about equality!

Tonight we will be heard. And tomorrow we will be heard. And we will be loud until we are all treated the same!

  3. 3

I wish i could be there to protest,

please everyone come out to support if you can!

  4. 4

Hello!? Why weren't you guys protesting or at least making your voice heard this morning? They would have seen you early and maybe you could have made someone think. It's after that fact the vote came down.

  5. 5

  6. 6

    Perez, you look GREAT!!!!

  7. 7

    PEREZ! Go Go Go!
    WORK IT!

  8. 8

You look so hot in this pic

  9. 9

Waaa, Waaaa. just go protest and you will still not get your way HATER!

  10. 10

    Sorry Perez - that sucks

  11. 11

Perez you look amazingly hot in this picture!!!

  12. 12

    Perez, you look GREAT! Mwah!

  13. 13

People…Stay home and dont' waste your energy. Nothing can be done now. Good has triumphed over evil.

  14. 14

Has anyone ever thought about just moving to a state where it's legal? I really dont see the big deal-California is over 40 billion in debt…why would anyone want to stay?Go be happily married somewhere that it's recognized.

  15. 15

    Go Perez!!!!

  16. 16

    OMG…look at your HOT self!

  17. 17

Weren't you the one saying that Miss California SHOULD have answered your question with the decision is to be left up to each state on their own?

If that's the case - then why protest. Obviously California has made their decision - and that's that.

  18. 18

I wish I could be there - but I live in NJ! That picture of you is FAB!

  19. 19

perez! i'd like to know what you are doing on efforts to end the wars in afghanistan, and iraq, and now korea… i would also like to know what you are doing for the economy. when will you be protesting and posting on those issues?? when will those issues be important enough for you to address them everyday as you do with your gay rights issues???

  20. 20

The only thing lacking was not invalidating the 18000 marriages that already took place. Other than that….. ROTFLMAO!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

  21. 21

It's a very sad day, that just ratifies how, at the same time people are so evolved, they're still SO Neanthertal!

I Live in Brazil and, yeah, we don't even consider having gay marriage legalized ( not for a very very long time, at least ), but to know that it was legalized, then cancelled by the majority of the population, and then this disgustin decision was ratified by the supreme court, that was suposed to look for People's right, just makes me sick

  22. 22

    get over it already.

  23. 23

  24. 24

Go ahead and protest! The gay mafia is turning more and more people against gay marriage. If you wants rights, why don't you fight for those and not the right to wear a pretty white dress.

  25. 25

Lets take it to the federal level so we can get one more legal body to tell the gay lobby to go stick it where the sun don't shine….oh wait I guess they already do, maybe that's the reason they get no respect, even in the "great" state of Cali….

  26. 26

Better luck next time is all I say.

  27. 27

I'm still protesting California's overturning of prop 187, and that was 15 years ago! Unfair!

  28. 28

    Sad day. You look hot.

  29. 29

In NYC? Meet at 6:00 p.m. at Sheridan Square Park on Christopher St across from the Stonewall Inn.

  30. 30

and dont forget protest for more works, money and cute and perfect boys :)

    why white and not rainbow?

  31. 31

Your being treated different because you are different…you are not equal.

  32. 32

You can protest all you want, and whine and bitch all you want, and nothing is going to change. The people's voice was heard on the matter and the California Supreme Court has confirmed what the people chose! Get over it…

  33. 33

I am sorry to hear that that was the choice made but, do understand that the people had spoken, I think we need to support the voice of the people that went out and voted. Perez if you so strongly believe in anything and everything gay, run for a public office and maybe you can make a difference.

  34. 34

    The people have spoken!

  35. 35

Perez, you look hot in this pic!

  36. 36

    This is just wrong.

To know that only a handful of votes created this outcome - not to mention the confusion surrounding the bill itself, it's very sad.

We call ourselves "free", but until every person in this country receives the same rights, we aren't free at all.

  37. 37

    My fucking eyes are bleeding……………………..!!!!!!!!!

  38. 38

Look….I am all for Gay Marriage and think it should be legal everywhere. However, you need to change the record.

  39. 39

    photo shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. 40

Just pick another word? Why does it have to be " marriage "? You took gay, fag, queen, queer, lesbian and made them your own, just pick another word. The heteros don't want to lose that one. I have gay friends that were married when the court was reviewing the law. Now they get to stay married because they are grandfathered in. So say heroine was legal 2 months ago and I bought 200lbs of it. Now it has been made illegal, do I get to keep my heroine? How can the court let any illegal marriage stand? And now it looks even more like discrimination, because now there a married homos, and homos that can't marry.

  41. 41

They made the right decision. Marriage has always been between a man and a woman and there is no reason to change that all of a sudden. Love a person of the same sex if you want to but don't expect the same rights as a hetero couple.

  42. 42

Disgusted to hear of the decision. I'm a heterosexual, Catholic, married mother who has no idea why the homosexual community is discriminated against in such a fundamental way. Marriage, its rights and responsibilities, should be available to all. To deprive one very large and important part of our community of a right like this is staggeringly incomprehensible. I, for one, am very sorry that those who say they are in favor of 'traditional' marriage cannot see the hurt and pain they are causing. In our modern society, it is a shame that the gay community is being treated with rules from the dark ages. I totally support any protests and I hope things will change very soon for all those loving couples wishing to marry. Remember - not all of us are bigots.

  45. 45

perez you look awsm here lol

  46. 46

Re: nicolenjessica – Wow! You sound so sad and ignorant. Just because you mother is also your sister doesn't mean you have to hate on others!

  47. 47

Go ahead and protest your ass off. It won't matter. Looks like Miss California wins again!

  48. 48

People made their choice already, sorry but that's why the CA Supreme Court upheld the voters approval.

  49. 49

me and one of my besties our showing our support for the gay community by attending!!! see ya there perez!!!

  50. 50

    and the photoshop-award goes to…
    Mrs. Pe-reeeeez Hilllll-tooooooon!
and I thought the last Britney-Cover was over the top…
lmao, at least by using this incredible tool you are starting to look like a human being
and do whatever you think you have to do, but remember:
doing good is more important then to talk about HOW GOOD you do!

  51. 51

I was so hoping it would go your way………..Just so you would finally SHUT THE FUCK UP about it. I like coming to your site, but am so tired of your personal fights being shoved down my throat CONSTANTLY! I will be back in a few days, as I have no doubt THIS is all you will write about for that long! Shit!

  52. @v@ says – reply to this

Perez, you NEED to know that this is NOT an anti-gay decision. It is people defending that institution that exists now between a man and a woman. Up north, some parts of Canada legalized marriage for either, but some provinces had the same kind of perception problem, and thus they decided that the term 'civil union' rather than the term 'marriage' would include everyone without offending anyone; and the gays still got their legal rights from being joined in a civil union. It's the hetero couples defending their long standing institution from taking on a different meaning. To get your own term is not necessarily a bad thing.

  53. 53

Equality for all or justice for none!

  54. 54

Oh Mario, you saying 'no hate' after single-handedly vengefully slamming miss California and now Glambert and others…
Come on, this just hypocrisy squared.

  55. 55

  56. 56

yaye!!!!!!! marriage should be between a man and a woman. don't you ever stop and think…hmmmm why do they still not allow gay people to get married? i'll tell you why..because it's wrong and will always be wrong :)

  57. 57

Yuo know when you scream and whine and are annoying, people will ignore you and treat you like a child.

  58. 58

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA………….the NORMAL people have spoken!!! How many times do you need your face rubbed in it Mario?? YOU LOST AGAIN!!!!!!!

  59. 59

    Go Equality!!

  60. 60

I love how you casually mention that your "celebrity friends" are going to be with you….so as to entice people to come down to the rally. People who may otherwise have nothing to do with the rally…who just might want to be there to gawk. I totally support your cause and I wish you the BEST, but don't be a celebrity whore.

  61. 61

Told ya, Fucker! Why do you think that they should overturn what the majority of Californians voted for to appease the gay population? Take it to vote again and see what happens. Time will tell. What good does protesting do, seriously. You need to accept this and move on and maybe next time it will win. Honestly, neither side of Prop 8 had a good enough argument. To me, the part that pissed me off was that the teachers union used all those millions of dollars for No on 8. That's essentially why I voted YES. honestly, I could care less if gay marry, mine is not a religious or political reason. I just don't like the arguments. Plus, sorry, but I don't like the fact that it was going to be taught in schools. They need to teach tolerance, period, but why do they need to teach things like homosexual tolerance. It should be tolerance in general. Plus, why is it that it is all about the word, "MARRIAGE"? Why wouldn't you be happy if you all were given equal rights without using that specific word. That is what most people oppose.

  62. 62

"Gay and lesbian residents of this state are being denied the same rights, privileges and protections that heterosexual couples have when they marry civilly."

Lol. What? Either you are deliberately trying to mislead people or you are an idiot, Mario. Gay unions are not recognized as marriages…but gay couples enjoy the same rights, privileges and protections as hetero couples here in Cali. It has been that way for a while. I'm sorry that gay marriages are not legal here, but gay rights have come a long way. Why can't anyone be thankful for what we do have? Futhermore, I definitely do not think that acrimonious protests are the way to go to forwarding the agenda of gay marriage…

  63. 63

Nice airbrush work Perez LOL! You so do not look that good!
Thank GOD Prop 8 got upheld. I am from the SF Bay and I am sick of all this gay stuff being forced down our throats. The people voted 2 times to ban gay marriage in CA and that's THAT!!! This is not how the system works, you can't just go overturn anything you want! It doesn't make sense! It's the will of the people and it always has been. So go have your stupid hateful rallies. Being Gay is un-natural & a mental illness. If we were all gay then there wouldn't be any babies, we would go extinct therefore it is not right!

  64. 64

  65. 65

wow people. for all the H8's if all of America had your mentality of don't even do anything since it already happened… god knows where this country would be. And isn't that the whole point of our freedoms?? Being able to stand up and do something?? What's wrong with you people?? If everyone just sat on their asses and didn't do shit we would be nothing. And by the way, If CA passed this, they probably could have pulled in some revenue since they are broke as shit. You elect a stupid actor for your governor and legalize pot but can't do something really fantastic and completely legalize gay marriage?? You're so lame.

  66. 66

u look fucking gay in that picture

  67. 67

What celebrity friends do YOU have fucker?

  68. 68

    How does chalk make noise?

  69. 69

I say they take the right to marry from everyone!!! WHO needs to get married anyways… its just a paper!!!!

  70. 70

Since the deciding factor that turned out to vote for Prop 8 last fall were mostly black Christians, I say to start by protesting at primarily black churches starting this Sunday. I would think after they see what they are up against, they will just give up and let you guys "win".

  71. 71

Re: njpaul129 – Why do you come to this blog fucking hater!?
Evil are all the fucking ignorants and haters of this nation! Sadly, it seems to be a majority.

  72. 72

I am glad that Prop 8 was upheld. But please, let me explain before you trash me. I am gay and never thought Prop 8 would pass. But it did, because of the Mormon Church and a TON of lies put forth and funded by them on television commercials. It's these lies that caused a bunch of people to vote the wrong way. Also, the CA constitution is not written properly, but I won't get into that because I do not have a 100% understanding of the wording that allowed this to happen. Here's what I do know: If the Supreme Court overturned Prop 8, there would have been an incredible backlash against the gay community because everybody that voted for Prop8 would feel their voices were being ignore. There would have been horrible consequences for the gay community. What will happen, and I am fairly certain of this, is that this will once again come up for a vote by the people. The next time it gets voted on, Prop 8 WILL BE OVERTURNED and my a MUCH larger percentage than it passed with last year. The people have to vote and decide. The Supreme Court cannot deny the voters how they voted. I hope this makes sense. i am so upset this morning, but I am trying to think rationally.

  73. 73

Maybe ideas like holding a gay right demonstration in West Hollywood is why gay civil unions will not get off the ground either. Why the hell would you hold demonstrations in GAY neighborhoods. You're preaching to the choir. You're not going to GAIN any support there.
BTW, who did the air brushing on your photo? They actually made you attractive looking.

  74. 74

Re: rocktaggie – No it will be nice to see the Klan showing up to rally up the people again, If the gays don't get their way, I'm afraid there's going to be a hanging.

  75. 75

Its like I said before and will say again, the people spoke in a election and the supreme court of one of the most liberal states in this great nation determined that the ballot initiative was valid.

There are alot of things that happen in all of our lives and sometimes even the best intentioned idea's are not the best idea's. Maybe at another time the status of gay marriage will change in California but for the time being, its better to let the fire storm cool down and figure out a way to make everyone happy.

  76. 76

Perez say's this is all about EQUALITY… What about the rights of those who don't believe in gay marriage? I think he means it's only void of equality if you disagree. I say GO GO GO Miss California. WE LOVE YA!!!!!!!

  77. 77

ok why didn't you do this shit for an actual CAUSE

    like poverty.

    or war.

oh that's right because your sexuality is more important than those issues

  78. 78

    Re: njpaul129 – God doesn't exist HAHAHAHA!

  79. meme says – reply to this

This wasn't about gay rights for the supreme court today. It was about deciding whether or not the people of California properly amended their constitution. And the supreme court had no choice but to rule that they did properly change the constitution. They are the ones who made it legal last year so if they could have changed it they would have. You guys need a new proposition for November to change it back. At least the current marriages are still legal.

  80. 80

Re: DarrenOz – that ass needs a spank!!!!!!!!!

  81. 81

i wish that your government could wake up and realize that this form of inequality is ridiculously outdated. im so happy to live in a country (canada) where homosexuals are treated like equals!!!!!!
    good luck with the protest!!!!!

  82. 82

You're protesting a decision you haven't even had time to read Mario. Did you know it was a 6-1 decision, meaning it wasn't even a close legal issue? What this says to me is that you care more about getting your way, no matter the cost, even at the expense of the rule of law and reason.

  83. 83

    Re: Frag The Paps

lmfao that is a good point

  84. 84

What a beautiful picture of you, Perez!

  85. 85

Sounds like a famewhoring event for you fatty. Why do you have to show up with "celeb friends"? Aren't the everyday gays good enough? They don't take you seriously when you are constantly promoting yourself in the worst sort of way.

  86. 86

This is disgusting. A gay person should have every bit the same rights as any straight person. As a Canadian, I am proud to live in a country that supports equal rights and civil marriages for our gay citizens. It's your turn America. Step up!

  87. 87

WOW, the new fabulous Perez! Love the pic ! Go Perez!!!

  88. 88

No we wont join your HATE parade with screaming , hate and bullhorns……OMG H8 is YOU

  89. 89

Oh and photoshoppers can make you hot no matter how hard they try.

  90. 90

Hey Mario, you little whiny bitch, you see, you can't have everything. You are not entitled to everything you want just because you are gay and loud. Common sense prevailed this time, but I guess it's not over.

  91. epic says – reply to this

    will you show up?

"Gay and lesbian residents of this state are being denied the same rights, privileges and protections that heterosexual couples have when they marry civilly"
not (completely) true. read wikipedia (f.e.) before making such claims. and yes, i mean gay couples in california.
protesting is nice, and i would agree - but the way YOU did it was and is WRONG WRONG WRONG - so live with the consequences (and by that i'm adressing all gays who behave like you), and maybe someday you'll understand and handle the situation differently.

  92. 92

Re: Solaera – This is not true. There are SEVERAL rights and privileges associated with marriage that do not apply to civil unions, etc…

  93. 93

Why do you care? Nobody wants or would marry you fat ugly ass. Your only relationship is a dog that hasn't had the oppurtunity to run away yet.

  94. 94

  95. 95

Perez you and those that act like you are not normal, dont fit into our society well, are hateful, rude, insulting, bullies, obnoxious, innapropriate, vulger and on and on so you pretty much make your self second class

  96. 96

  97. 97

Re: marytylermoore – You’re a cock, you know that? He's not saying we all need to be gay, he saying gays have the human right to be married just like your bigot ass.

Like we need anymore children brought into this world anyways. Because, you know our orphanages aren't already full enough.

  98. 98

    Perez, move to Vermont. :-p

  99. 99

is that u in the pic? wow hottie
