Prop 8 Reactions: Clooney Speaks

George Clooney cares about everyone, including the gays!
The dashing actor just released a statement sharing his thoughts on the Cali Supreme Court upholding Prop H8TE.
Says Clooney: "This just should invigorate people to get it back on the ballot in 2010 and 2012 and every two years until all people are allowed a basic civil right."
Amen!!!!

what a little bitch. i hate this douchebag.
I understand that this is something that affects people and their lives and that as a heterosexual female this probably isn't as important to me as it is to someone who feels as though their rights are being violated but really… aren't there bigger fish to fry than gay marriage?
mostly I don't understand why the government won't just allow equal rights so that we can all focus our attention in other areas, and once people stop focusing on this, I hope that they will direct these efforts to an equally or more deserving cause.
STFU!!!
He is going senile already!!!!
Can we re-do the presidential vote until we get it right too?
Yes!!! GO GEORGE! TT
Come to Canada Perez!!!! We love everybody.
I don't care what comes out of his mouth……he just looks good saying it!

Gay news all day.

Everyday.
GEORGE CLOONEY IS AN ASSHOLE. PERIOD.
George is so handsome!!!!
U know what I find weird, Perez? The first sentence:
George Clooney cares about everyone, including the gays!
If u ask me, ur putting "the gays" apart, making it a different subgroup, which is, if i read everything u write about this subject, not what u want.. Nor is it what I want. as I'm one of the smart people who think every1 is alike and there should be no diference in law.
Every1 is the same, stating that some1 cares about everyone and almost shouting out AND THE GAYS OMG.. Doesn't strike me as an 'i think every1 is equal'-comment..
But anyway, I'm from The Netherlands, so Im probably extremely liberal compared with the USA. I understand ur happy about every state that says gay marriage is allowed, but for me thats strange, as here it has been for a pretty long time now.. America is kinda conservative in some ways…
Since when is gay marriage a basic human right? For thousands of years marriage has been between a man and a woman only. Why all of a sudden the rush to allow gays to marry? When a man and woman marry it is for the good of the children, the good of the family and the good of society. When two men or two women get together it is called disgusting, perverted and SICK!
If he doesn't say that then his career is in the tank because of people like you.
Damn you Clooney for looking so good.
Guess he was just too busy to make the rally last night. Probably something good on tv
Re: Plinkie9 – ahh common, perez career is also over - just a matter of time until he's completely gone =)
(and i'm extending it by coming here D:)
WE NEED MORE POST ABOUT GAYS PEREZ!!!
George is right - and it is only a matter of time before love conquers H8!!!
Re: K.P –
So right .. I love Canada.
Now I need a passport to visit.
Lovely, inside and out!
Re: epic – Clooney thinks what the educated ,higher income 48 % of the voters in Ca thought and voted including the ca supreme court who legalized gay marriage,Arnold the Gov ,our two senators and most decent people. The pro h8 votes came from fascist inland republican trash and uneducated minorites. Period. Those are the sad facts.
George Clooney is awesome, thanks for speaking out and speaking for the decent half of California.
TOO BAD HE DOESN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE COMING OUT HIMSELF. HE'S SUCH A NEAT MAN.
Perez!! I read this on E!Online LAST NIGHT. If you're gonna steal Ted Casablanca's exclusives, you should at least credit him. Geez, dude. But good for Mr. Clooney, YAY.
Re: MBFAMB – I completely agree with you, but a problem that can arise from all of this is that people will want to bend the rules more and more. this is something that shouldn't even be an issue. i really think homosexuality is just a lifestyle that people want to label as genetic just to save themselves from accepting their true roles in life as either a male or female. perhaps if people would stop labeling things (material things such as the color pink, perfumes, etc.) as either feminine or masculine, then perhaps there would not be homosexuality. everyone would choose to wear what they want without being called a "fruit cake" or a "butch" therefore would not live with that stigma since a young age of wondering if they are homosexual or not. but what if they just emotionally connect with each other emotionally? then perhaps it is more of an emotional thing than physical … well, at least for women (that's what i've heard at least). Women have more of a friendly relationship than physical. and why do gay men dress so nice and are filthy rich? narcissism perhaps? maybe homosexuality is just a psychological thing.
The stupid damn ballot is where they passed prop 8 you stupid idiot celeb queer-loving retard. YES! It happened at the BALLOT, and by a large margin, no? Idiot.
Re: Kimb0 – Fag
Re: Yellow Peeps – fag
LOL I never read the comments in this section because I know it's by a bunch of ACNE faced 13 year olds with fat parents who believe in a magical fairy up in the sky…..but this time I thought I'd share something with you little kids- GAYS AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE!
THANK YOU for making us a VERYYYYYYYYYYYYY strong community. We are louder, prouder and more ENERGIZED than ever before!
and again, we're not going any fucking where. Shield your eyes, baby!
Hey Perez and your president don't said a shit..Why? Because Obama is against gay marriage, like 99% of blacks and hispanics in this country. And you voted for him, because….?
"Marriage" isn't a civil right. It is a privilege. It is an institution which means something very specific. Specify, please: the right thing to do would be to give equal partnership rights.
Our country has bigger problems right now than this. I will pay more attention to your march once you tell me how we can fix the economy. Or stabilize Iraq. Or any of the number of things the world was under the impression Obama would be able to do in a few short years…
And I always thought that the most important, basic right- "the right to life"- was more important than, you know, getting married. Huh.
WEll, he IS gay, so he's going to care about this issue! But I agree with him too andI'm straight.
Re: hellojessi – I'd say that treating homosexuals as second-class citizens is a pretty important issue. What hypocrites we are trying to spread democracy when we don't allow homosexuals to have the same "privileges" as heterosexuals. Even if you regard it as a privilege and not a right, it's still an institutionalized way of treating homosexuals as less than heterosexuals. I don't see why I, as a straight woman, should be awarded this privilege while my best friend, a gay male, is deemed unworthy of it by the government. I did nothing to deserve it, so I don't see why I'm so special.
Re: demi101 –
Demi…what an ignorant postulation you've made. I, like my fellow homosexuals…were born this way. I knew, at 4….when my first "crushes" started. I just did not understand what it was or sexualize it at that tender age. It has NOTHING to do with colors or perfumes..trust me. I would not "convert" for ANYTHING..but, it was a hard-fought battle….dealing with the paranoia of being "found out" as a teen …the snide, hateful remarks..etc.
BTW….Clooney must be proposing to Bradley and expecting a June 2010 wedding!
Wow. A celeb that actually paid attention in high school Civics class. The emotional knee jerk reactions and lack of understanding of basic governmental function on this one is stunning. We can cut Charlize Theron some slack since she didn't grow up in the U.S. Perez, what' YOUR excuse?
That's normal G. Clooney is GAY !!!
This man said right…. a basic civil right !!!!! love you George !
What about men and women who entered into this union 50 years ago, what about their rights? Change their institution…
Re: antney – but could it not have just been admiration of your first "crushes"? and how did you start knowing since the age of 4? i, a grown woman of 24, didn't start developing serious interest in boys until about the age of 10 or 11, and growing up in a family where I was the youngest of 6 I admired the femininity of and enjoyed spending time with my brothers' girlfriends and my sisters. but I also enjoyed playing sports and "boyish" games with my brothers and male friends, and not once did I start to wonder if I was "gay". the more you think about things, the more they start to effect and become a part of your life. people just need to relax and let nature take its course. if you prefer the companionship of a man, then you enjoy the companionship of a man. i hardly think that there's a need to get so political about it, and besides what's marriage these anyways but a contract that certifies the physical unity of two people? seems more superficial than emotional to me. i think you're better off proving to the world that you don't need that tradition to be with the one you love forever nor to prove your happiness.
Re: hellojessi – well, i guess they would contribute a lot more to the economy through their weddings (could be more than $30 grand), child adoptions [to create a family (questionable but perhaps beneficial)] and with this child expenses … umm … i'm sure there's more. It's such a debatable issue. One can argue the pros and cons to both sides … luvs it!
I don't understand why everyone thinks he's gay. he's definitely not gay, and i do know this for a fact. now 99.9% of the other actors in hollywood…well that's another story.
Re: demi101 – Ummm… marriage in the eyes of the law is more than just a contract. It offers protections, such as being able to visit a partner in the hospital. Also, I couldn't even finish reading one of your previous comments because you suggested that being gay was a lifestyle choice. I'm straight, and I really can't recall ever choosing… because I never did. I was born that way. When did you choose?
Re: Teena9 – No I can't recall choosing either, but I do recall a few women in the past who have been interested in me. I rejected their date invitations because I was not attracted to them in that way at all. Homosexuality just doesn't make sense to me … I have known people who have labeled themselves as gay and dated people of the same sex for a while, but then decided that they were straight or the other way around. I think it is a decision that is independent from our biology, and in some instances it may happen so fast that the realization of it may come a bit late. I don't want to seem like a narrow minded individual by posting my opinions. They are simply observations that I have made through the many people that I have met in my lifetime.
MY POINT SINCE THE BEGINNING WAS THAT THIS SHOULD NOT EVEN BE AN ISSUE. EVEN THOUGH HOMOSEXUALITY IS HARD FOR ME TO WRAP MY HEAD AROUND I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE AND LOVE WHOEVER THEY WANT. THERE ARE MORE ISSUES IN THIS COUNTRY THAT NEED A RESOLUTION AND SPENDING SO MUCH TIME AND ENERGY ON AN "ISSUE" THAT SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ONE IS A WASTE. I HOPE FOR NOTHING BUT THE BEST
Re: demi101 – Well gay people don't choose to be gay they are born gay ,so people that say otherwise freak me out, because it's so ignorant and a lie. Sec'ondly its the repubican hate side that's consumed with it's anti-gay hate agenda.if they didn't harass gay people it wouldn't be such an issue and take up so much time and money. And how callous of you to think it's not a big problem, well its a huge one for gay people.
