"Our purpose:
To place abandoned/unwanted basset hounds in suitable, loving, permanent homes.
What we do:
All basset hounds who come into our care are spayed/neutered, provided with any necessary medical care and brought up to date on vaccinations.
They are loved and cared for in a foster home where their personalities and individual needs are assessed. They are then placed into suitable adoptive homes.
We do our utmost to ensure each basset is matched to the right family, but if for any reason the adoption does not work out, we require that the basset be returned to rescue… at any time throughout the life of the basset."

Perez, just wondering if you could help out a charity by featuring it on your worthwhile causes. Kay McElroy is the director of Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary and has about a $30,000 a month operating cost and could use some help especially in these tough economic times. She has taken in abandoned and abused animals including tigers, lions, cougars and domestic dogs and cats. Their website is www.cedrhill.org. They are a great service to these animals and it would be a shame to let them go unnoticed. Thanks, Heather Reynolds

Thank you for posting a worthwile cause for basset hounds! I'm a member of a local basset rescue (www.brood-va.org) and I just adore bassets as well as all animals! Bassets are very loving and affectionate and deserve wonderful homes - please donate to basset hound rescues!

Ontario,now we have to help out their bloody dogs also.That province is a bunch of whinners. Ill help a Basset Hound just to get out of Ontario

Basset Hound Rescue of Ontario is truly a worthwhile cause to support! The dedicated volunteers gives so much of themselves to ensure that each and every basset that needs their assistance is well taken care of. The organization is rooted in genuine love, compassion and understanding of all animals and it shows on the face of each and every soul they save each year.
Fourteen months ago we adopted a five month old Basset from this group. She has brought so much joy to our lives. This past weekend, we spent a day with a 125 Basset Hounds at a Bustle organized by BHRO.
