Wonder how Adam Lambert is going to feel about this?
The openly gay second-place winner on American Idol has just be outed publicly by a judge on the show. And it wasn't Paula Abdul!
The judge who may not be back next season, Kara DioGuardi, did a taped interview for The View which will air this Friday.
And, during the segment, Barbara Walters asked DioGuardi if she thought his "perceived sexuality" might have influenced the audience to vote for Kris Allen.
To which DioGuardi responded, "Well, first of all, I hope not … because we should be judging on talent and viability in the music industry and they both [Lambert and Allen] had that. I don't think that Adam [Lambert] was ever in [the closet]. I think he was always openly out."
Was he openly out? He's never confirmed it, despite many photographs revealing him kissing guys. And he's also REPEATEDLY refused to answer the question directly, when asked over the last week and a half if he is gay or not.
During a recent interview, he LAMEbert told to interviewer that he likes to have everyone "keep speculating."
When Walters reaffirms that it wasn't the public's perception that Lambert was openly gay, DioGuardi continued, "I think he was. I mean from what I've seen … I do. I never thought he wasn't."

I'm a huge Adam Lambert supporter, but his attitude toward his sexuality is beginning to put me off. If he simply didn't want to talk about it, that would be one thing. I could understand that. If he came out a la Ellen or Wanda or Lance, I would be thrilled. But this coy, almost cocky, attitude he has about it–"keep speculating"–is a little offensive. I understand Adam likes attention and to push buttons, and he's definitely doing that. But to allow people to keep speculating as a way to keep the spotlight on you and to generate buzz? I feel like he's exploiting the oppression of our community, a community he may well be a part of.
Adam, I know it sucks to be seen as "the gay singer" or as a trailblazer or a role model. I've been doing it since I came out at 15. Sometimes you just want to be seen as you. As a former student body vice president at a conservative southern university, I know a thing or two about being out in the public eye (I was openly gay all through college), though not on your level I concede. It's not easy, but somebody has to do it if things are ever going to change.
It is sad when a person is defined by their sexuality.

Why, why, why, why. Being gay is not an easy lifestyle. There are still a lot of families who are unaccepting of it. It seems to you like it should be just a simple issue of proclaiming your sexual preference. But in reality many gay people have to come to terms with how to tell their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and sometimes even their own children. In a perfect world we would all be like, "Ok, you're gay, who cares." But in reality that's not the way the nickel rolls. Some people have very open families that wouldnt think too much twice about it. Some people have more conservative families they have to be more careful with. Ok, so a lot of people start becoming sexually active around 16 to 20. Do you think those kids are going to walk up to their mom and dad and start talking about the sex they had last night. It's a declicate issue and sometimes you don't even have to discuss it. People will get a general feel for the way you roll over time.
So, he is gay? Ok.
And if he ain't. Ok, too.
This kind of constant outing is what pisses me off about Ted Casablanca and about this site. I do not get why people who are gay force others to come out when they don't want to.
David Hyde Pierce talked about this today on the View and had kept his personal life quiet by choice.
David Lambert has a lot ahead of him, not some career insulting people who do sing and act for a living, so he does not need to use his sexuality to get something or get attention.

I have to agree with a lot of the other commenters here. Sexuality shouldn't be the defining characteristic of anyone. I'm sure there's much more to Adam Lambert than his choice in partners. If he's choosing not to let the world know about his personal life, maybe it's because he doesn't want the fact that he's gay to be the only thing that people associate with him. In some ways it may seem cowardly or that he's ashamed, but I doubt that's the case. I think that by refusing to let people label him as such, Adam is in some ways doing a favor to the gay community. We will only be truly equal when people stop requiring other people to announce their sexuality. We should start focusing on other things, and also start accepting one another regardless of differences.

She's finally right about something that this show is about the voice, but she's wrong on some levels too. I'd rather see someone on stage have amazing stage presence and an OKAY voice (Britney Spears) rather than see someone on stage who has not-so-great stage presence (Jason Mraz) and a nice voice.

I love hearing what celebrities are saying about Prop 8, something I don't get a lot of researching legal and sociological arguments surrounding it. But sometimes I don't really care to read an article about it, so I don't read it. The same goes if there is an article about a celebrity I'm just not interested in. But I would NEVER bitch at Perez for writing what he writes on his site. I'm the guest here.
