Jennie Garth Has A Broken Heart - Literally!
Former and current resident of 90210 Jennie Garth is speaking out about a serious condition she has concerning her heart. The actress suffers from a leaky valve, a common ailment for people, but still quite serious.
As she explains: "A lot of people have it. They don't know they have it… [it] leaks blood. It's your connection to your heart… your artery, the main artery that goes to your heart. It sort of flutters open and shut sort of a thing… it's weird because sometimes when I'm resting I can feel a little weird fluttering."
Jennie has been dealing with the condition for about seven years, but only after the recent death of her father from a heart condition has she now decided to talk about her struggle and become involved in the fight against heart disease.

It's serious alright - a serious need for attention.
What she's describing is not a serious medical problem and unrelated to heart disease.
WHY IS IT THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO ETHER
#1 DIE
#2 GET THERE ASSES KICKED {LIKE RIRI.}
#3 TRAGEDY—————-SOME THING REALLY BIG FOR PEOPLE T DO SOMETHING ABOUT ANY THING. NOW THIS HER FATHER HAD TO DIE FOR HER TO THEN TALK ABOUT IT IN THE MEAN TIME SHE HAD THIS ALL ALONG AND DID NOT SAY ANY THING ABOUT IT. NOW YOU COME OUT THE WOOD WORKS WITH THIS ===============================WHAT EVER.
Let's hope that she survives it
This story would be more touching WITHOUT the "DRAG ME TO HELL" advertisement in the background
Hmm, I get that feeling too sometimes. Great.
Re: monkeyjena –
because you're an idiot
It's not that big a deal if it's what I think it is. I have the same thing and it's referred to as a congenital heart murmur. It is not the same type of murmur one might get after contracting rheumatic fever. Now that is the type of murmur that is serious! I have hardly ever given it a second thought.
It's mitral valve prolapse maybe? My friend had that and eventually had the aortic valve replaced. While it's a big kinda surgery, it's *not* heart disease!
hahahaha it's very common in MIDDLE AGED WOMEN and I have it too… it is not life threatening nor is it serious and is worse when you consume caffeine… talk about drama… get over it!!!!
Re: sparkys nemesis –
I was wondering if she was talking about mitral valve prolapse too, but the info doesn't fit…mitral valve is typically benign and is not heart disease and certainly wouldn't have caused her father's death…maybe she has something else?
Re: Larizza – KISS MY ASS.
ARTERIES DON'T GO TO THE HEART. Veins do. What a genius.
Re: Larizza – SAY NOTHING TO ME OR ABOUT ME TANK YOU.
I'm so sure.
Well, it's a good thing she's married to Dr. Carlisle Cullen. He can take care of her!!!! (Sorry, somebody was bound to say it)
oh no i think i have it now!!!
I have the same thing. It really isn't a big deal. You just gotta keep an eye on it. She could potentially need the valve replaced (many people never need it replaced), but the procedure isn't even an open heart surgery anymore. Personally, I am relatively healthy otherwise and lead an active lifestyle with no limitations. Like Jennie I do get the occassional heart flutter, but otherwise, no negative side effects.
I've always liked her as an actress! She's cute too!!
It wouldn't be from rheumatic fever. The flutter one gets from rehumatic fever is something most people can live with. If it's a congenital heart defect, then it is serious and the valve will eventually need replacing. I have a similar condition (tetralogy of fallot) and I'm facing valve replacement surgery soon enough. Don't say it isn't serious until you have to make a choice about such a serious surgery.
The heart is on the opposite side of the chest, not where you've drawn it.
Great minds think alike. This is a completely common and non-life threatening condition. Man, this bitch is desperate for attention.
Dr. Carlisle can patch her up! ;D
Get better!
I have the same thing, it is not really bad but I have to visit the doctor every year just to make sure the leak is not getting bigger. But is not life threatening or anything like that.
Mitral Valve Prolapse is not necessarily only in 'middle aged' women…mine was diagnosed when I was thirteen. And 95% of the time, it's not a big deal, but good fuckin' luck if you're in that other five percent!
Whoopity doo! I have MVP too, but you don't see me crying about it.
Ah, poor thing!
Get better.
monkeyjena, That's way over the top and really unnecessary.
Poor Jennie…I hope she continues to cope as well as it sounds she is…
its called mitral valve prolapse and 1 out of every 1000 woman have it, most don't know it and have no symptoms, I happen to have it and get the symptoms which are similar to heart attack symptoms, but you can not die from it
My grandmother had a leaky valve her whole life and lived to the great age of 96, if Jenny lives a healthy life, she will also, lots of tea, fruit, veggies and vitamins.
I have this too and if is what I think it is, they can it mitral valve prolapse, as a couple of other people posted. It can also cause anxiety attacks. It is something that can turn into a serious condition over time. My aunt had the condition and she had to have open heart surgery to fix the valve.
Monkeyjena(cmt #2) brings up a good argument. Though I agree with her in sentiment, I disagree her from a privacy standpoint. Every one is entitled to their privacy, no? Ain't it a fundamental, universal and inalienable right to all respectable human beings?
So to answer MonkeyJena's question, why? Because people need fire on they's ass to start moving sometimes.
Now Perezito, my love, i hope you know i mean this out of love. What can you do to satisfy your intellectual reader? Why would you or Ms. Garth go about describing an ailment, without dropping a name. Why would you aim for the lowest common intellectual denominator? What does it do for the common human cause? Doesn't it debase what humanity is instinctually trying to do? Does subpar writing hamper progress?
I have a close friend who has a heart thingy a double valve defect, defective in that it doesn't shut and seal properly, causing general circulatory malaise and sever health problems. (I know i'm a hypocrite who hates to capitalize his I's) a 25 year old marathon running West Indian having open heart surgery, like OMG.
I was thinking it was A-Fib/A-flutter. Don't stroke out!
Well - BLOW ME UP NOW ~!
