T.R. Knight NOT Leaving Grey's

He's in. He's out.
He's back in?
This morning it was reported that T.R. Knight was not returning for the next season of Grey's Anatomy.
But, not so fast, because now there might be hope.
A tweet from show creator Shonda Rhimes suggests that the news of T.R.'s departure is false or as she puts it, "a hilarious, ridiculous rumor."
But is it?
All anyone is sure about is that both he and Katherine Heigl are under contract for another season and judging by Shonda's instant reaction to the news, she clearly wants to keep them on board.
At the fall upfronts for ABC, entertainment boss Stephen McPherson also weighed in on the situation, but gave no definite answer: "They've both signed on [for next season]. I can't say whether or not they'll both be there."
Way to keep the fans dangling.
Our bet: Geroge out, Izzie in.
But we'll just have to wait and see!

They cant keep both of them! I mean how likely is it that two best friends (or former best friends) both survive serious illness and a serious accident. It's just not real. I personally hope both of them are off the show. The end for their characters would be perfect. Get on that elevator George!!!

i say, we wait. his face is completely gone, so i doubt he will be back. they just dont want to loose fans, they want people to tune in and find out, and hope they will get attached halfway through regardless if he stays or not.

I hate when actors decide they're too big for the show that made them a star. They always leave and are never heard from again. i.e. the entire original cast of ER except for George Clooney!
They both were dying to leave and I can't see ABC having the money to pay them to stay. I think George is dead b/c Izzie was going to join him, but then it was like she realized that she needed to stay. But I think she signed the DNR and she'll be back for just a few episodes as a veggie to satisfy her contract or something and then they'll pull the plug for legal reasons. And if George stays he will be really disfigured in the face, and he wasn't a big part of the show recently, so he'll be gone.
Perez, I love you man, but get your facts straight. Shonda said that about rumors that TR was leaving and being replaced by another actor that would be playing George post plastic surgery. Not about the rumors that broke yesterday about TR leaving.
Shonda's actually on vacation right now as per her twitter and she doesn't take electronics with her so she hasn't responded to these rumors yet.

OMG PEREZ DO YOUR RESEARCH PROPERLY. i read that tweet. someone asked her if some other actor would play george since his face is unrecognizable and T.R would be gone and someone else will play george. That's when she said it's ridiculous.

No offense but Katherine Heigl isn't that big… and she's actually good in Grey's Anatomy. In movie roles she's just okay.

I thought it was symbolim that George was off the elevator…"in heaven" if you will…and Izzie was still on the elevator…I thought this was symbolism that she was about to join him in heaven, but she might have pulled through because they ignored her DNR request.

I agree, George out.. He was already off the elevator and "on the other side." I thought it was weird he was in his military outfit, though, since he'd never actually worn it.. I hope they both come back, though, because I love 'em!
Anyone remember what happened in "Friends" when Joey pissed off the writers of DOOL ? They made his character brain dead. It would be a great way to piss off any actor- make their character lie in a hospital bed for an entire season, without any lines.

shonda's tweet was in response to a fan saying they heard a rumor that TR's character, george, would live, but because of the accident and disfigurement, TR would not be returning to the show.

I love TR, but if he has two brain cells rubbing together in his head, he will suck it up and make Grey's last as long as he can. Does he really thing he'll ever get work again when it's over. Look at that idiot who co-stared on EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND. When the show ended, he continued to try to get work in TV, but no one wants to see him. Can't think of his name, but he's a real pig.

Oh please!!! will someone just come out with an official statement already?!?! T.R. could go for all I care but how the finale went down, it is possible he could return or maybe just the character George will return with a new actor because George's face was destroyed beyond recognition so maybe someone else will play George after his face is reconstructed? who knows.. oh well.. NEXT!!!
