"Pink Paws for Life (Pink Paws) is a charitable foundation dedicated to finding a cure for pet cancers. Our goal is to provide widespread awareness and funding for pet cancer research and prevention measures.
Pink Paws for Life works with Universities, Medical facilities and other organizations to provide pets and families with treatment, education, resources and programs.
We are also committed to securing funds for the advancement of clinical research, which will aid in early detection, diagnosis and prevention of such cancers.
To raise funds and support our initiatives we sponsor a number of non-competitive canine and human walks, pet fashion shows and other events. Pink Paws fundraises and receives donations from corporations, organizations, and individual donors.
As information about pet cancers and treatment is extremely limited, Pink Paws utilizes its relationships and resources to bring awareness to these life threatening diseases and under funded research initiatives.
Anyone who has had cancer, or has a loved one with cancer, knows this disease affects the entire family – this is no different when the ill family member is a pet. Pink Paws is dedicated to making sure pets with cancer can live longer and better lives. We also provide resources for family members so that they get the support needed when their loved one is diagnosed.
One of our key objectives is to ensure that pets diagnosed with cancer receive the most effective and least toxic treatments, so that cancer-related mortality in pets is no more. All that we do is ultimately geared to curing pet cancers “because they’re our best friends”."

My dog recently died from cancer.
Doggies rock.
Sorry — pet cancer? You've got to be kidding me.
sweetibird,
Don't be so quick to dismiss this sort of research. It will most likely help humans, too. After all, we share an enormous chunk of genome with other living creatures–e.g. 60% of human diseases have a counterpart in the fruit fly world and most of the research done to benefit humans starts out as animal research (tragic, but true). There's nothing wrong with giving a little back and it will likely help all of us.
What a wonderful cause!
My dog died from cancer this past March. Thank you for posting this site! I definitely want to help out for the NYC one. In honor of my dog
I support the key objectives of their cause and do not want any pets to suffer….ever but losing a pet to cancer vs a child or another HUMAN family member is different….very different. I've gone through both and in a nutshell, cancer sucks. GO GREEN!
My dog just past away from cancer last week. It's heartbreaking! Any donations for cancer weather it be for pets or people can help save lives. Donate what you can even if it is just a few cents, it all helps. My mother also past away from cancer, so I know first hand that it hurts just as bad to loose a pet to cancer. For anyone who donates Thank You!!!
uh, if they find a cure for "human" cancer, won't they have found the cure for all cancer?
My sister dog died last year from cancer, I am very lonely without her. My human works in the research field and says this is an awesome charity.
who gives a fuck about pet cancer!! what about human cancer??? fuck this!!
I am so sorry for your loss.
When it comes to pet cancer, I wonder the following…
Does your dog eat out of plastic containers that are releasing BPAs? (Chemicals that cause cancer)
Is your dog chewing on toys that are plastics that are releasing BPAs?
Is your dog eating meat that is full of hormones and antibiotics? Whats really in the dog food?
Is your dog drinking LA tap water?
I think that it is essential to consider these expenses and choices when deciding to have a pet or a child for that mater.
My Randi girl died from lymphmona two weeks ago after a year of chemo treatment. It was so sad…yes, they aren't humans, but they can be truly part of a family.
Cancer sucks all around and needs a cure - human or animal. The thing about pets though, in most cases there are less treatment options.
Re: sweetiebird – when your pet dies from cancer, i don't think you'll think they're kidding.
