Mayor Bloomberg Throws A Fit
A certain Mayor Bloomberg threw himself a little fit when a reporter questioned him about his controversial push for a third term to be dictator mayor of New York City.
Bloomberg was spouting the usual political rhetoric when New York Observer reporter Azi Paybarah asked if the third term was really necessary.
Bloomberg responded, "Why don't you just get serious questions here?" and then called Paybarah a "disgrace."
Ouch!
Bloomberg later apologized via his spokesman, but a spokeswoman for Bloomberg's Democratic opponent, City Controller William Thompson, contended that "What's disgraceful is the mayor's refusal to answer the tough questions."
Them's fightin' words!

There's a reason why presidents can only serve 2 terms. Absolute power corrupts absolutely! Mayor Bloomberg should be well aware of this. He has more money than God, I'm certain there are other avenues he could pursue!
I don't see anything he's done that really warrents serving a third term.
Why didn't he just throw himself on the floor and kick and scream while he was at it?
Boot him out!
Like it or not the city council voted to allow him to run for a third term. I am not Bloomberg's biggest fan and I disagree with many of the things he has done for NYC but he has also done a lot of good for the city. While the economy maybe turning around as was stated in the above clip, the doesn't mean that the economic crisis is over, far from it. In this crucial time when we need to make sure that things keep going on the up and up its more important than ever to have a savy business man aiding in the decision making. Regardless of what you think of his politics, its hard to deny that Mike Bloomberg is an incredible business man. He certainly did not handle the interviewers question well and it was inappropriate for him to get so defensive and whisper "you're a disgrace," but come November the people of NYC (where I was born and raised and have lived my whole life) will get to decide whether he stays or goes. Just because his term limits were extended doesn't mean that he automatically will get reelected, though it is a strong possibility. Perez maybe you should spend a little more time in NYC before you pass judgment on our mayor who many people approve of and feel has done a great job.
the mayor is just another useless man.
I lost all respect for this prick when he blamed Canada on the major power grid outage that shut down NYC a few years back.Of course it wasn,t our fault at all but another state problem no apology,so Bloomberg can kiss my Canuck ass
Working to run for a controversial third term is a completely legitimate question to ask. how dare the Mayor refuse to answer!?
THEY NEVER REALLY ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS DO THEY…I WONDER WHY
Re: harrington – the problem with bloomberg-ok, one of the problems with bloomberg-is that he thinks he is far superior that the average person-I think he is a hypocrite. He gave Guilioni grief when he wanted to stay on after 9/11, saying that no one man is irreplaceable. Now, he is contradicting this. He is using the economy and his business experience as the reason for staying. the reporter is taking the white house report that the recession is over, so there is no need to run for the 3rd term, since his business expertise is no longer needed. My question is-if he is such a great business man, why did he not see this coming and stopped it? and as for the vote to allow him to run for a 3rd term, it also allowed others on the council to run for a 3rd term, amazingly, the ones voting on it. Isn't that a conflict of interest? and Bloomberg will win, being the 8th richest american, he spent over $74 million on the 2005 re election. One of his oponents already dropped out-siting lack of milliions and millions of dollars. Question-do you think he actually spends a cent on this city? you got to be kidding
luvd it!
It's a shame that some people who seek a position of public leadership put on such a display of an out of control ego and plain stupidity. Some of these politicians think they're god and how dare someone question their judgement or choices? It's another example of politicians thinking they are above answering to the people. They bow and scrape and grovel while asking you to vote for them but as soon as they get in office they act like they inheirited a royal title and are bigger and better than the people who put them there. Get a grip on it Bloomburg….
BLOOMBERG HAS A POINT (MANY POINTS)
.
1) IT HAS ALREADY BEEN DECIDED THAT THERE WILL BE AN ELECTION IN WHICH HE CAN PARTICIPATE. THE VOTERS CAN DECIDE.
.
2) IT FEELS AS THOUGH WE NO LONGER HAVE EDUCATED JOURNALISTS. WE HAVE A BUNCH OF GUTTER TRASH PAPARAZZOS WITH CELL PHONE CAMERAS AND CHEAP DIGITAL RECORDERS WHO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT BEING EDUCATED ON AN ISSUE.
.
3) BLOOMBERG IS A FINANCIAL G-E-N-I-U-S!!! HE NEEDS TO BE MAYOR OF THE FINANCIAL CENTER OF OUR COUNTRY. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF HE HAD HAD THE CHANCE TO BE PRESIDENT.
.
IN THIS AGE OF OBAMA WHERE THE MEDIA ONLY CARES ABOUT GETTING A SOURPUSS FACE OR PANTY FLASH, RATHER THAN TAKE THE TIME TO STUDY AN ISSUE AND QUERY A POTENTIAL LEADER ON THEIR POSITIONS AND SOLUTIONS, THESE IGNORANT SLEEZEBALLS ARE SADLY BECOMING THE MEDIA NORM.
HE IS A DISGRACE. AN OUT OF TOUCH DESPOT!!!! BILLIONARE MAYOR IS A SHORT SIGHTED IDIOT!!! HE IS CLOSING STREETS AND MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AROUND IN NYC AND REAL PEOPLE ARE GETTING TIRED OF HIM QUICKLY. I'M VOTING TO GET HIM OUT!!! THANKS FOR SHOWING THE WORLD WHAT WE ARE DEALING WITH HERE IN NYC.
Re: justtfax – I don't think he should be able to alter the law to get another term, but he is very good at what he does. The law about term limits needs to stay as it is because changing it will open the door for abuse of power. People should be asking themselves why Bloomberg appears to be the only guy who can run NYC! This is a great country and there should be other qualified, capable people out there. Where are they?
Re: female version of a hustler – It's a gossip site tard. Any interesting gossip gets reported. Read a different story if you don't like this one.
what a douche!
I think he has done good things for the city, but I am getting tired of him. He is a hypocrite. One of his commercials said that he hears concerns of the middle class about rising costs and wants to do things to keep them in NYC. However, he is in favor of raising just about everything. He wanted to add tolls and charge to drive into Manhattan. How is that helping the middle class of Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island?
That was a fit?
Bloomberg is a pissy little creep who wants to be king of NYC. I hope we throw him out on his bitch ass in November.
Dick cheese at it's best.
Uh yes, Mr. Bloomberg, I have something to add: How do you sleep, when you encounter homeless people ? How do you sleep knowing that schools are underfunded, and teachers are poorly paid? How do you sleep knowing that people die in your city's hospital waiting rooms waiting for medical attention? Do you sleep soundly knowing that you are simply not doing all you can? Please enlighten everyone so we can get by wonderfully as you.
I live in NYC, born and raised. I used to like Mayor Mike but now he's really showing his ass. That reporter asked a relevant question; Bloomberg should step his ass aside and give up the power trip. And stop hiding behind the economic crises as an excuse to deprive others of the opportunity to be mayor of NYC. It's not fair.
Re: harrington – I was born and raised here in NYC too but I just don't feel that what Bloomberg is doing is right. He pressed for the City Council to approve a third term but it is with the condition that it has to be for him ONLY. That flies in the face of constitutional law that states there is supposed to be a two term limit. Meanwhile there's a strong possibility that he'll be voted for again because he's practically buying his way into it. Most New Yorkers can't even tell you who his contenders are!
who????…oh…cares…New Yawk ain't the center…
Hey, Napoleon, it was a legitimate question. A little prickly, are we? Or just a little prick?
thats not right- 1 shouldnt re-write the laws for one self .. let 'er go already! doesnt somebody have some retiring to do??
"absolute power corrupts absolutely.." was said by our founding fathers
This was "throwing a fit"????? Apparently someone knows NOTHING about being a New Yorker.
I can't tell if you listed William Thompson as "City Controller" to be funny, but that position does not exist. I believe you mean "City Comptroller" which is his actual job.
haha he mugged him after he dismissed his question so funny!
