The Way She Was: The Barbra Streisand Story
Funny Girl Barbra Streisand is set to publish a book documenting the construction and completion of her new home in Malibu. Do people actually give a shit about her freakin' house????
The mansion was completly designed by Streisand from top to bottom and the illustrated book, called A Passion for Design, will give an inside glance at how the superstar worked more than five years on the oceanfront property as well as showcase other residences, back from her early years in New York.
While this book project is up and running, another eagerly anticipated one keeps getting turned down: a memoir about Streisand's life. In a recent interview, Barbra says: "I go back and forth. Do I really want to write about my life? Do I really want to relive my life? I'm not sure."
She does confess, however, that there are some chapters written, in longhand, at a time when she felt "spurred on by the writing process."
At least THAT would be more interesting!

NO, I wouldn't waste my time reading Bab's self-serving "design" book. However, a book regaling us with the details of all her "surgeries" might be worthwhile. And a TRUTHFUL account of her financial ups and downs, as well as all her failed relationships could be interesting…

I am a true Babs fan from the day I could walk, and would read this. As a person who loves the renovating and construction home channel, absolutely.
i have no desire to read it, but I would read a Streisand bio. She is the greatest singer ever.
As for her being irrelevant, her special and her new DVD are very popular.
Babs couldn't write her own autobiography if she tried. If you read about her in Brice Taylor's "Thanks for the Memories" you'll see that she's a mind controlled celebot who does and says what she's told to. This book blows the lid off the Hollywood propaganda machine like you've never experienced before.
I'll say it again, Perez, if you don't like Barbra Streisand, why don't you spend your hateful energy on some other more mediocre celebrity, one who perhaps is devoid of a moderate amount of talent…oh wait, you should just write about yourself!!!!!! By the way, the book isn't really about the construction/completion of her 'freakin' house, it's a detailed book on architecture, design, color, things she knows about, and yes, it will be from her perspective. Like any book. Anything wrong with that? It'll probably be on the NY Times Bestseller list for weeks, like most of Streisand's projects.
