Re: cafehead1 – what are you talking about "marriage was created by the catholic church"? marriage existed a hell of a long time before the catholic church was founded. pretty sure the ancients had rituals concerning Demeter among others…who has nothing to do with the Catholic church. maybe you should do some research before you make those kinds of statements. I will agree though that marriage was always about power…but I think more in the past then now. And if gays want to marry for love than I think they're more deserving of marriage than those who marry for power.

okay seriously? i understand people not wanting to exploit the child or whatever but its great to see that a kid can see how ridiculous it is for gay marriage not to be legal!!
a child is able to say love is love without all the shit that goes on in adult relationships that cloud everyone elses opinions! i think its great that younger people are made aware of the struggle going on for gay couples and are able to take a stand for thier opinion so leave her alone! it doesn't mean she's gay or her paretns are!

People once thought if abortion was made legal their would be no more children and look at the world now, we are quickly becoming over populated. Plus ever think about this? More parents = more people to adopt = less people who have to grow up without families.

Oh and ps. gay couples are less likely to get divorced than straight couples.

actually, in order for something to be considered child abuse it would have to inflict emotional, physical, or psychological harm to the child and causes lasting psychological damage.

this video doesn't really seem to be doing any of that…although it seems to me that divorce would do that.

She compared gay marriage to marrying your parents. That is not okay. Quite insulting actually. That's why kids shouldn't be alllowed that much access to grown up lives, they start to mix it with other ridiculous things. End result = not pretty. Kids are the future, with this kid though, I don't see that great of a future.

I really wish she would have taken her video more seriously, and not said the crap about "omg prop 9 you can't marry your cousin, prop 10 you cant marry your grandfather" or whatever. i highly doubt the issue is the word "marriage". i think its more a long the lines of if your partner dies…you have no rights to their estate. if your partner is in the hospital…you have no rights to see them or know their medical records.

if you think the issue is that gay couples want to be able to use the word "married" to describe themselves…you're pretty sheltered and uneducated.

My daughter is 12 and I was very surprised to learn that her and her friends are very knowledgable about what Prop 8 is. Many of her friends, my daughter included, are against prop 8 and the reasons why they are against it make much more sense then what I have heard some adults say. Just because they are children doesnt mean that they cant have opinions or that those opinions should not be heard or respected. I do agree that children should not be used to further your own agenda, but if she made this video on her own without being scripted by an adult, then great.. let her views be heard.
