Wall Street 2: What To Expect?

wall_street.jpg

Wall Street 2, starring Shia LaBeouf, Javier Bardem and Michael Douglas reprising his Oscar winning role of Gordon Gekko, is set to begin production in August.

And, now, we have plot details!

In the sequel, Gekko (Douglas) has served his prison sentence and is warning everyone about the fall of Wall Street. No one is listening to him so he devotes himself to mending his relationship with his estranged daughter.

Shia plays an ambitious, young Wall Street trader who is engaged to Gekko's daughter.

When Shia's mentor unexpectedly kills himself, he suspects that a hedge fund manager (Bardem) is responsible. Shia seeks revenge on Bardem's character and asks Gekko for help. Gekko agrees in return for help reconciling with his daughter.

The film spans from June 2008 to the federal bail out.

We hate to admit it, but this sounds really good…even relevant!

SOUNDS LIKE A MELROSE PLACE EPISODE.

Since when does Gekko have a daughter? What happened to little Rudy?

    3. 3

sounds kinda boring but execution and casting are everything. seems like they should do something timely like grandiose pyramid schemes and government corruption (ie Government Sachs gets $50 billion –free– no strings attached no need to pay back).

      lame

      why mess with the classics?

That sounds good to you? It sounds fucking terrible. Hopefully the script gets a MAJOR re-write.

Amazing how ugly Charlie Sheen is now, compared to his WallStreet days..

I loved the first wall street, this sounds completely lame. wtf? wallstreet was about the actual business that went down and a minor love interest. this plot is just too much extra crap

Michael Douglas is a douche bag. One more face lift and he's going to look like Joan Rivers. There are a thousand actors in Hollywood who could play that part. Dump his ass.

Anything with Shia in is worth watching. lol

This might work. I'm a closet Shia fan.

But I don't know if I want to see Gekko as a anything but the bad guy…. yikes!

Since when did Gekkos son morphe into a daugher. Sounds like the script is already flawed to me :(
And Gekko suddenly turning into a Do-Gooder sounds LAME too!
The reason we all liked Gekko was, because he was a bad ass… meh… I think I wait until it comes out on DVD.
