Drunk Driving 101 with An Idol Finalist
It must be really tough to be an American Idol finalist. For 3 months of your life, your story is all anyone will talk about and then you get the boot back into obscurity.
Truly tragic! We guess that's why Season 1 finalist Nikki McKibbin drowned herself in a bottle of gin after the show was over… and kept on going for another six years.
After a stint of Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab last year, Nikki is finally ready to open up about her addiction and her alcohol abuse. And it sure ain't pretty!
"I was a horrible person when I drank," she says. "I was awful and really mean and really angry and I started fights with people for no reason, I was a bad mom and a bad wife."
Oh, a violent drunk. How original. But at least you didn't get into a car.
Oh, wait!
"I took care of my son when I was high and was driving to school drunk, I was just really bad off."
Sounds like the kid would have been better off driving himself to school.
But while some finalists have found comfort in their Idol comrades, Nikki decided to burn those bridges as well, especially with Kelly Clarkson: "I haven't talked to Kelly in a while. She sent me tickets to a concert three years ago and I showed up high and I don't think she wanted anything to do with me after that."
A good, clean girl like Kelly sure as hell doesn't want to hang out with a boozehound like you.
Oh well, at least Nikki's better now.

Watched her on Celeb rehab,sometimes it takes awhile for people with traumatizing childhoods to get thier shit together,better late than never good for her and her kids.
Yeah making fun of someone's weight is not something you should be doing at all Perez, you suffered with your weight for years and it definately wasn't pretty, you still have a way to go, and I think it's bullshit to talk so cattily about someone who is trying to stay sober and healthy, the last thing she needs is to look at a popular media outlet and get a bunch of childish blows to her self-esteem.

i really like this girl. saw her on the rehab show. didnt know who she was before. dont watch idol. anyway, i think she looks so much better now, then before. look how confident she looks in the "sober" pic. i love it. i hope she continues to remain sober and a good healthy mom to her son. to live a life full of regrest cannot be good for your soul. shine on hun, you deserve it!!

Wow, I am shocked by the horrid tone of this article, even for Perez. For him to attack someone for their weight struggles, in light of his own problems regarding that, is already a hypocrisy in itself. But to go after someone who has met sobriety and stared her addiction in the face and is committed to a healthy recovery (something most people in the business don't have the balls to do) is incredibly spineless. Nothing is going to prompt her to drink more than public ridicule in the press at a time when she is making positive choices. What the hell is wrong with you???? Seriously. The media takes things too far sometimes, and this is a prime example. Good luck to Nikki, I hope she realizes that other people's opinions of her don't matter. This woman is picking up the pieces of her life and putting forth an honest effort to improve herself. What is it about her that makes you use such nasty, hateful language?
