Total Recall Once More!

total_recall.jpg

The 1990 science fiction film Total Recall is being remade!!!

The original, starrring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone, follows a man experiencing dreams of journeying to Mars who buys a dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. He believes he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he fights to overthrow a dictator controlling the production of air.

Seriously?!

The studio is simply calling the remake a "contemporized adaptation."

They must be so desperate to contemporize a Schwarzenegger film made in 1990!

the story is based on something much better than arnie - book by brilliant 50s scifi writer Philip K Dick. original book called 'we can remember it for you wholesale'.
he also wrote the book that got made into Bladerunner.
so, with the right actors and without arnie, it could be really awesome!!!

I love this movie. First saw it when I was a toddler and couldn't stop acting out the "TWO WEEKS!!!" part. Saw it again recently and love the plot. Can't wait to see a newer version!

      @LG HEARTS THE POSSE!

He's Austrian, not German, so while the blanket "Nazi" works, kraut doesn't apply at all.

    12. 12

Oh, and God yes to when they want to take great stories that were totally screwed up by hack directors/actors and fix them.

I used to love Total Recall, I had the pocket game growing up
but a redo rarely succeeds, so be careful directors !!

Heard about this a few months ago. But thanks for staying current.

    20. 20

Not to say anything bad about Total Recall (i love that movie) but it was REALLY far from the story that Phillip K Dick wrote. Maybe if they're making a new movie it's because they want to make it closer to what Dick wrote!

i love total recall! 1 of my fave movies

Are you serious Perez? All the studios DO these days is remake old movies, and you're constantly promoting them. So what's the deal here, not an Arnie fan so you have to bash it? Grow up you fucking child.

    24. 24

Dude!!! That's cool for a rumor…I loved the 90's movies and this was just classic arnold…It would be awesome with the special effects of today…also it has a really out of this world story…hope it goes through

    25. 25

oh man I hope to hell this doesn't get screwed up!! >_

I know alot of vintage lovers but I don't know one person that wants this film back. The storyline would be perfect for Tom Cruise, though he probably wouldn't want to be in a film re-do of Arnold's, being that Cruise has a alot of blockbusters in the past too. Sharon Stone would probably want a piece of the action $$$. Milo V from "Heroes" would be great moving vehicle fro him. Oh but this movie will happen. a) it's the California governer's film b)Alot of hungry actors and everyone in the entertainment industry love investing in franchises c) they'l do it to avoid the news headline: "There's A Recall on 'Total Recall' "!

    32. 32

You mean they're redoing "We Can Remember it For You Wholesale", a fantastic short story by Philip K Dick

    33. 33

      NO MORE REMAKES!!!

    34. 34

If it's ANYTHING like the first, it should be called TOTAL REFUND!

    35. 35

      FUCK SCHWARZENEGGER!
FUCKING ASSHOLE CLOSING STATE PARKS, CUTTING EDUCATION, FIRING TEACHERS.
CUT SOME OF THOSE BIG PAYCHECKS DOUCHE!
      FUCK YOU ARNOLD!

    36. 36

Shit, I just hate fucking remakes!
Except for THE BOUNTY, a true story of a mutiny on bord, performed in 1984 by Mel Gibson as Mr. Fletcher (played before by Errol Flynn (I guess) and after for Marlon Brando (I´m sure))… and an other good movie, POINT BLANK, performed first by Lee Marvin and, then, AGAIN by Mel Gibson as Porter, in the also great «PAYBACK».
Now, a remake of TOTAL RECALL, such a good movie, recent and full of stars?
Come on, do we really need it?
      Talking for myself, I'm sure I DON´T !!!

    37. 37

I wonder if they are going to put the woman with the 3 boobies in! LOL :P
