This has to be some kind of joke - or else Perez is once again being paid by the Poof Pony's publicists to keep his name in the news.

Jake Gyllenhaal is a serious actor, who has an Oscar nomination, a BAFTA nomination, along with a series of excellent reviews for his other movies. He shows the ability to play a broad range of characters, and he has played in a rock band.
..
Makeup Boi, on the other hand, is a creation of the Disney marketing machine, who has been in exactly two feature movies that garnered horrible, scathing reviews and only one of which made back its investment (through merchandising, not box office receipts). He has absolutely no gravitas, no suggestion that he can play anything beyond a plastic Ken-doll in movies with trite, cliche-laden scripts. Efron's musical background beyond the Disney millieu is having STARRED in his high school production of 'Gypsy' (probably as the female stripper).

And last thing - Jake is six feet tall - only a completely insane Broadway producer would want to put a 5'7 midget like Petunia Efron up on stage, where he could not be seen as well as someone of normal height…..

OK clued out people. Who's the hottest singer going today, who has that booming voice and sexy hot look and who can sing the proverbial phone book: Adam Lambert.

Hot Idol babe and winner (at least I and millions of others believe he should have won) Adam should go for this role and get it in a hearbeat. He can sing the crap out of anything, and his smoking hot looks will definitely get people out to the movies.
