Even though Kal Penn's character on House has already made his dramatic exit, Kal has yet to begin the work at that other famous House (Hint: It's White) for which he left the show.

White House director of Specialty Media, Shin Inouye, says, "Though we look forward to him joining the team, Kal is not working for the administration at this time."

Penn's been a pretty active participant of the Obama administration, and while it's not sure when the actor will begin his prestigious gig, it is known that he will be "the administration’s point man to the Pacific Islander community, which includes the aboriginal peoples of the President's home state of Hawaii, and the Asian-American community."

Apparently the strong reaction to the "shocking" departure of Penn's character from House made everyone think that "there should be a bit of timely delay before he takes up work for the administration."

But Inouye added, "We are very glad Kal is joining the administration…we just don't know when that is going to be."

Hopefully it will be soon, once TV audiences have finished "grieving."
