Travolta Speaks Out

A devastated John Travolta has kept a very low profile since the tragic death of his young son, Jett. We reported last week that the heart-broken Dad didn't make it to the premiere of his new movie, The Taking of Pelham 123, as he is yet to feel comfortable speaking to the press or appearing at public event.

Because of his absence, John just took to his official website to thank the actors and director of the flick for all their hard work and understanding.

He says:

The Taking of Pelham 123 from Sony Pictures is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2009. It was a labor of love to work on this film with the producers Todd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal, the director Tony Scott and fellow cast members Denzel Washington, Luis Guzman, John Turturro and James Gandolfini.

Tony gave me the freedom to define, and then to become, the ultimate evil mastermind. This role as an actor gave me the chance to dispense with all moral and ethical limitaions, and exlpore just how bad this character to could really be. I believe you will like the result.

Tony, Denzel, Luis, John, James and Sony Pictures stepped up without hesitation to help promote this wonderful film, and their unselfish efforts have allowed my family the additional time to reconcile our loss.

I am very proud of the efforts we have all made in making this movie, and I want each an every one of you to enjoy it. So set your calendars for the weekend of June 12th. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

With Love,

John

Our thoughts go out to Travolta and his family.

He seems like a really sincere and awesome guy. I hope him and his family can find the joys that life has to offer soon, but I think he should take all the time he needs to get through this tragic chapter.

John and Kelly are a class act. My heart goes out to them both and I hope that someday they will find peace in the memories of their son. So, so sad.

Funny thing is before his son died i don't think there were a handful of pictures on line; then suddenly there were pictures everywhere of him with his family. I'm sorry for his loss, but I'm not going to see his movie because of it. I'm sick and tired of remakes. He's good at playing a bad guy though.

Hmmm. I though $cientologists just think kids are little adults and we're all in meat bodies. If so, why the despair? Oh yeah. Because $cientology is a joke. Even he knows it. Too bad he doesn't denounce it and help free all the people trapped in the cult.

so sad that any family should have to got through so much…….He is a wonderful actor and seems like a strong faithful man. He will see his son again one day and I think he knows that but that doesn't meen he will not be missed dearly by his family and friends. My heart and prayers go out to them.

Re: Crabbey – Wouldnt that be awesome. What would Tommy Cruise do then? SEriously I think you hit the nail on the head with your comment. If Scientology is legit and they really believe what is has to say, there can be no sadness and this wouldnt be considered a loss.

When will they remember that L Ron said he was going to start a religion for the sole purpose of making money ? Then he did just that ? He must be laughing it up in Hell as we speak.

god bless him and his fam. even if hes in to Scientology. i mean i say it with all due respect of course.

RIP Jett! John take all the time you need. But, come back when you can. Mean while you are missed and loved! Prayers to your entire family!

I am stunned that the public has so little to say about the fact that his teenage son who suffered from frequent severe seizures wasn't on any medication when he died. Scientology kills.

Re: CuddlyCarla – Agree 100%. I'm sure John and his wife are not only grieving but they feel guilty that because of their crazy religion they didn't provide their son with medical care that could have saved his life

Love you too John…wish all the best to you & your family…this situation is never easy and when something is tragic like what happened it makes it worse…so take your time to heal…God bless…
