D-I-V-A Alert On The Set Of Robin Hood!

Filed under: Film Flickers > Russell Crowe

Trouble is brewing on the set of the new Russell Crowe flick in London!

Director Ridley Scott and Australian actor Crowe have been butting heads since production began on Universal's Robin Hood remake, and it doesn't seem that either will be putting their differences aside anytime soon.

"The producers had to fly to London because Russell and Ridley won't talk to each other," a spy relayed to reporters. "Every time they stop filming, it costs the production millions of dollars."

What divas!

The trouble started even before filming began, with Russell demanding Ridley be booted off the flick because their last collaboration, Body of Lies, was such a disaster! He also was reportedly bitching about his story line, saying the script needed to be rewritten so he could have more screen time!

The chairman of Universal, Marc Shmuger, doesn't think there's a problem at all, of course.

"Ridley and Russell asked us to visit . . . to see more than an hour of footage they've already shot, which was nothing short of spectacular . . . We couldn't be more excited by what we saw," Shmuger told the press.

He continued: "Russell and Ridley are working on their fifth film together and have one of the strongest and most collaborative working relationships. When it's news that a studio chairman and a film's producer [Brian Grazer] visit a production, it must be a very slow gossip day."

Nice try at a spin, bud!

I think Mr. Crow is trying to pull a Christian Bale multiplied by 2. Christian so call blow up on the set and than Christian had them to rewrite Terminator Salvation and Russell and Christian are friends. Now Russell is have a script rewritten like Christian Bale had Terminator rewritten. There guys are Hollywood heavy weights and they know it. I think Russell is trying to make this film big and make money since he and the film are unknow these days. These guys are smart!!!
I don't think Mr. Bale did anything for attention but I think Russell Crowe is doing this for some attention. Besides it's his ass that will be on the line if this Robin movie is crap.

Re: Perezismyboy/girl – the productors did rewriting the script when they change the actors! the first idea was a good sherif and a bad robin hood by 2 actors! after, they had the idea to act the Sheriff and Robin Hood by the same actor Russel Crowe and they changed Marianne! Now it's more a traditional script:a good Robin and a bad Sheriff with 2 actors with a Marianne as old as Russel Crowe! so Crowe wanted more screen time ,he kept the 2nd script!

  15. 15

I'd still let him fuck me–oh yeah–

Er okay. Russell Crowe as Robin Hood?
Secondly, loads of actors can opt to rewrite scripts. Its part of the process. Its your fault when you as a film maker want the best, as a writer you have to just stand there and let them bring in the Nolans (Bale) or scream at you to rewrite the whole thing over again (Downey Jr.)
Russell just didn't get away with it like those two did. And I don't think they hired and fired cast members when they felt like it. Anyway this Robin Hood film probably won't even come close to the first one and the BBC series.

  17. 17

Crowe is a douchbag. Someone needs to beat him down with a phone

  18. 18

That's no surprise. Nobody in the industry wanted to work with Crowe except Scott! He can feel free to burn his last bridge for all I care.

  19. 19

I love russell. He is one of my favorite actors!!!!

This story is not even remotely believable.

  24. 24

That's not spin. It's the truth. In fact, Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe are like brothers.

  25. 25

Diva or not still wouldn't say no to russell the man!

  26. 26

he is not attractive at all. He never was that good looking, but since becoming a dad, he has really let himself go.

  27. 27

Russell Crowe being an arse… No surprise there!

  28. 28

i dont know what it is but everytime i see a pic of RC i feel embarrassed.

  29. 29

HIS ONCE-STELLAR CAREER SEEMS TO ME TO BE IN THE CRAPPER BECAUSE HE HAS BEHAVED LIKE SUCH A CRAZED, VIOLENT, ARROGANT ASSHOLE IN THE PAST.

AND HE'S CERTAINLY NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER.

LOOKS LIKE HE WOULD HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING BY NOW.

  30. 30

    russ thinks he's an artist!

god these dickheads who play dress ups and take direction to do anything are way too precious

his football team sucks ass too!

  31. 31

Look at all the silly lambs walking towards the slaughter :D It's okie dokie to have your own opinion kids ;) Anyhow, i think that Russel Crowe is an excellent man, interesting and very funny. Bugger Off! He's a star! i say if you haven't experienced all that he has through his entire career, then you can shut your silly trap mmk :D

BTW: Mr. C appeared on the set of Robin Hood and one of the makeup guys spotted some new little scars in front of his temple / hairline. Sounds like he's been visiting one of Bruce Connells boys somewhere in the world. Our guess is SF, but it could be NYC, Beverly Hills, Paris, or even Rio. His "fellows" are some of the best in the world and now call themselves (very quietly) "The Connell Society". If it's "Dr. Make Me Gorgeous (or keep me that way a little longer) these are the boys to see. No high profile think-they're-a-celeb-too-stuff. Just fantastic state-of-the-art facial rejuvenation at two prices. High, and highest. TM in SF is reputed to be the best and the most costly of the bunch - but for those who can afford the mid-five figure tariff for an afternoon ride on his magic OR table, they say it's like a trip back in time for your face. And a very good trip, at that. One recent male celeb patient who flew up to Sutter Street to have his work done far away from the prying lenses of the local paparazzi recently commented "Fuck me! I didn't look that good when I really was thirty-five!" (To which we thought but didn't add "that was twenty five years ago, sweetie. Are you sure you remember?"
