David Letterman's Contract Extended

Looks like David Letterman will be staying behind the desk of The Late Show with David Letterman at least until 2012, extending his current contract which ran only through 2010.
That's about 700 Top 10 lists!
The decision is part of CBS's bid to compete with NBC's shifting nighttime television lineup which includes Conan O'Brien earlier west coast slot.

I was in the audience a few years back and Dave is overrated. Not funny at all and they run the laugh track constantly. Also they instruct you to laugh at everything he says, even if it's not funny.
I was very disappointed.

Letterman is starting to look a bit better now, with Leno gone. I'd rather watch him than the dumbed down humor on Conan….in the end there is very little to watch anymore. Even Leno had his faults, a terrible interviewing style - turned the interviews around so he was talking about himself….it's really pathetic…
Yay! sounds awesome. Go Dave. Another 160 million or so in the bank! Besides, I don't really think Craig Ferguson could take over for him anyway. As much as I love Fergie, he really does cater to the stoners worldwide. He addresses them too, and frequently.

I can't stand Letterman. He's not funny, at all. And he seems to be an a-hole. Craig Ferguson is amazing, he'll make fun of people, but not usually in a mean way. And you can tell his guests actually enjoy being there.
