Scream Will Never Die!!!!

In a new interview, legendary horror director Wes Craven offers some interesting tidbits on the future of the Scream franchise.
Here are some HIGHlights::
On the status of Scream 4:
"Bob Weinstein (The Weinstein Company co-chairman) has talked to me, he's interested in me directing it. I had a brief conversation with Kevin [Williamson], I know that Kevin is writing. That's where it's at and I'm not expecting a script until August. I don't think it's a reboot and Kevin, when he talked to me, said, 'Remember, it's not just Scream 4, it's Scream 5 and 6.' So I guess he has a trilogy in mind. I don't know what the premise is or anything."On returning cast members:
"I've been told, and I don't think they'll mind if I say this, the deals on David Arquette and Courteney are virtually set. I believe everybody else will be new."On the danger that the films will lose their edge:
"There are a host of dangers in making more films. We have a saying in the United States, 'Jump the shark'. You don't want to do that, you don't want to drive it into the ground. You're avoiding those kind of dangers, hopefully, making the kind of film that has self-awareness from the characters where they're talking about film. I'm sure you can run that into the ground very quickly. I don't have a clue what Kevin is writing. He might be completely going around me, I don’t know."
Scream 6?!
This franchise will not just be run into the ground, it will be six feet under!!!!
We heard that a writer's job was to come up with new ideas!!!

They are gonna do SAW 6 and 7 and 8 and bla bla bla… they didnt stop since the 2nd movie to release one each year. Personnaly, Scream is kindda old so taking it back and making new ones is gonna be cool. We're not in the ” scream, i know what you did last summer” slashers era anymore. Well we still are but they are just remakes of Halloween and Friday the 13th. So if the story's good. Why not ?

yeah Perez, but theres like 20 Halloween & Friday the 13th sequels and like 20 Freddie krueger sequels. (obviously being sarcastic, but you get the idea). Also, Chucky had what? Like 5-6 movies as well. All horror films make 15 sequels. It seems to be working for the rest of 'em. And it's been a long time since scream came out, so a new generation will get to enjoy it.

I just can't stand to see this movie without Neve Campbell.
It's going to be so fucked if they just chose some it girl to star lead roll.
They're making such a mistake on not taking on Neve Campbell again, just a huge mistake, she's why people came back to see the rest of them she's a great classic horror movie character, right up they're with Jamie Lee Curtis's Laurie Strode.She's one of the classic scream queens!
I'm down with the Scream movies, but if the original cast is not going to be in the new movies I'm not sure I'd watch it. Come on, new cast members, but courtney and david are coming back. The movie is based around Sidney Prescott's life aka Neve Campbell. you have to bring her back. If not just leave it alone. Don't mess up the Original Scream Trilogy!!!

I was a kid in the 90s and I loved those movies, they were like my generations Nightmare on elm st. I'm excited but I hope they get Neve Cambell back.

I enjoyed the Scream movies. I will enjoy the next 3. Quit being a whiny bitch. Um hello - Another Gay Sequel whore. PS - I love you Perez and "Sequel", but really…why do you care if people like these franchise sequels. Let us enjoy them, no one is forcing you to go see them.

In a previous "Scream" post from last week, I said that there was gonna be a forth, fifth and sixth. Perez is dumb. This is old news.
maybe Perez can be in it, only when they stab him, it won't be with a fake knife. Then Perez will be dead and that will make the world a brighter place.

If they go back to the rawness of the first they will be fine, and even the second was pretty good, but if they follow the direction of the third it will bomb…
Oh wow, I do have all three and I love the first two, but will these next just keep getting worse or will they actually live up to the first? I don't know. I want to see them but whether im disappointed or not…we shall see, Perez.
