Smiley's Open Call Bombs!
An open casting call was held in Savannah, Georgia, for the upcoming Miley Cyrus movie, The Last Song, with film producers preparing for thousands upon thousands to show up to the audition.
And how many people showed up?
Less than 10!!!
Ha!
So what was the general mantra of the boys who managed to show up to audition for the Cyrus flick?
"It's a Miley Cyrus movie, I think that would be pretty funny if I was in it," one hopeful told reporters. "So I figured I would come out and try."
The handful of boys that showed up for the audition brought all sorts of odd talents to the table, including hacky-sacking and juggling.
Uh, what??
Anyway, seems that the audition wasn't a total waste of time because casting directors managed to call back one teen for the "bad boy" part.
Guess that's all that really matters!

It's because they specifically asked that for this particular open call the boys must know how to play hacky-sack and juggle! Don't try and twist it, you freakin' moron!
Uh, this happened weeks ago. I read it in an old paper when I was visiting my parents down there a couple of weeks ago. The reason the turnout was low is because they specified that the auditioners had to be able to JUGGLE, play hacky sack (not a game played in Savannah) AND look like a teenager.
There is also a local casting director in Savannah screening people before they audition.
This information is easily available if you check your sources, but I guess if your point is to make Miley look bad there's no reason to tell the truth.
Like John Mayer says "When they own the information, they can bend it all they want."
I'm shocked that they were able to find 10 young men who qualified in Savannah.

that's because it is bull…sort of. what perez left out was that the audition was limited to teenage boys who had to be able to play hacky sac and juggle. and the casting director was not surprised at the low turn out at all, they actually expected LESS people than that since it was so specific. so no one was expecting "thousands upon thousands" to show, perez just made that up. I'm not even a miley fan, I just read the article.

I live in Savannah and out of that less than 10 statistic, 3 of them are friends of mine. I work on Tybee Island where Miley and her family are staying during filming and I get all these girls asking me if I know where she lives, and everyone's just going crazy. It's so annoying.

Savannah happens to be home to the Savannah College of Art and Design. The streets are filled with college student and I highly doubt any one of them would bother show up to a Miley Cyrus Audition.
Its only a matter of months and we`ll soon see this redneck on the "where are they know" shows..Mwahahah!

They do not give a shit about her, they're not 11 anymore. they are way past her tweeny booper bullshit, college students have more important things to worry about, like getting drunk, getting laid, final exams and their thesis's….I bet this movie will not do very well either.

well, hold an open call in Georgia, that's what will happen! especially looking for a guy, I mean its based on a book by a great author and has Miley Cyrus in it, girls will flood in for that, not really guys. Its mainly girls how A. like Miley and B. read Sparks' books.
it's hillarious how the media turns things around. My son is a child actor and has done work in Savannah/Atlanta area. TONS of people submitted as principals and extras for this film WEEKS AND WEEKS ago. Now they are just casting specific roles. Not too many people can juggle or play hackysack that well. Duh. Look on the Atlanta Film Community boards and you will see what I say is true. it's not a bomb, there just aren't that many people that will fit that role.
The casting call was specifically for males 18-20 who could juggle and play hacky sack. That's why there were only 9 guys :/
