Brad Pitt Splurges On Art!!!!

Brad Pitt dropped some mayjah coin at Art Basel, an international art show in Basel, Switzerland, on Tuesday.
Pitt spent $956,000 on a oil painting by German artist Neo Rauch.
The painting, titled Etappe, is 9-feet-wide and shows a swirling view of a driver behind a red race car with workers nearby carrying hoses.
Sounds interesting!
The actor considered buying the piece before but returned shortly after with Los Angeles collectors Eli and Edythe Broad and made the purchase.
He's a man who knows what he wants!!!
Pitt bought a white marble table by a Dutch designer and an aluminum rug by a Colombian designer last year at the same show.
It must be nice to have all that money to throw around!!

Considering that could have funded the college education of 2 poor orphans without the need of Angie adopting them like puppies I'm not really impressed.
It's a waste of money to buy a painting worth that much but hey, they only do the charity thing when a movie comes out.

Art Basel actually is very cool. Brad wasn't the only celebrity there yesterday–Naomi Campbell was here as well. She and a few friends apparently dropped 20,000 CHF on wine at Le Trois Rois (The Three Kings–it's one of the nicest, most expensive restaurants/hotels in the city). As well as leaving 1,000 CHF tip. RIDICULOUS! I'm always envious of people who can afford that much on luxuries like art and wine.
Philanthropy is so last year. Imagine the lives which could be safed with a disposable amount of $956,000+.
