R.I.P.?

VH1's Best Week Ever has been shelved for a summer break that may prove to be its end.

The show, which was recently overhauled as a platform for host Paul F. Tompkins, isn't slated to return until January 2010, but some of its staff are considering the long break a cancellation.

Guess they're having the Worst Week Ever.

That show is good and funny.

    2. 2

Awww, that's too bad. However I did like the show more before they changed it. Now it's kinda lame. I love bestweekever.tv though.

    3. 3

OMG - love that show. that's way too bad

    4. 4

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! THAT'S LIKE MY "FAVORITE SHOW EVER"!!! Although it hasn't been AS great since Paul took over hosting duties…that stinks! I hope it's not true!

    5. 5

the soup is better….if i had to choose one of those stupid shows

    6. 6

No fucking way!!! I love this show. This sucks!!!!!!!!11

    7. 7

they always take the summer off what are you talking about

    8. 8

      LAMEEEE

MTV and VH1 should shut down, nothing good is on them anymore.

    9. 9

      Omg No!!
      I love BWE!!
      Please come back (:

    10. 10

It was cool for a while… Then they try to copy THE SOUP and sucked

    11. 11

      AW best show ever.

    12. 12

The format change was a horrible idea. I used to love that show, it was hilarious. But Paul was not the funniest guy on the show, and he can't carry the whole thing. I stopped watching. Guess the rest of America did too. Change it back or let it die Vh1! Idiots.

    13. 13

I haven't liked the show since they changed it.

    14. 14

I love this show, but not with the tomkins guy. I liked it better before!

I use to like Best Week Ever UNTIL they changed their platform. I liked having all the different comedians saying something about one incident, not just Paul.. so I stopped watching it. I like The Soup better although its getting so many spin-offs its ridiculous. Whats the difference between The Soup and The Dish other than different hosts??

    16. 16

=( That's really upsetting. Although I really don't like the show how it is now. I don't see it as funny.

    17. 17

      aww i loved that show!!
      :[
      hopefully it's not a cancellation . .

    18. 18

Aw man! I love Best Week Ever.

    19. 19

That was a good show under the OLD format. The new format sucks!

    20. 20

I use to watched BWE but I discovered The Soup( much better) 3 or 4yrs ago..But I liked the old format of the BWE with multi commentators not just one

    21. 21

i thought that show was pretty quirky and funny, that is until tompkins took over…that was a major mistake for vh1 to do that!

    22. 22

I loved that show ’til they changed the style. Paul F. Tompkins is funny too, but the different comedians made it great, especially Frangela.

    23. 23

that show kinda sucked so idc

    24. 24

It was good in the beginning, then they fucked it up big time.

    25. 25

So disappointed! I love Best Week Ever. If they did another overhaul and got rid of this Paul F Tompkins host bull shit and got rid of Chuck Nice in the Sizzler then maybe BWE would actually be awesome again.

    26. 26

Like others I agree the old format was great….I watched a glimpse of it a while ago and it was completely awful.

    27. 27

Jumped the shark when Paul F. took over hosting. FUNNY before that.

    28. 28

the show went downhill when they made paul f. tompkins the host. they should return it back to the original way best week ever was presented…soo much better.

    29. 29

      Sad. I love this show.

    30. 30

I use to watch this all the time on friday nights when getting dressed to go out. Then I started watching the Soup and never turned back. Soup > Best Week Ever.

    31. 31

that sucks it was kinda funny

    32. 32

oh no, i like that show and paul f , that is a shame,\BRING IT BACK NOW, do you hear !!!!!!!!!!!!!?

    35. 35

oh no, i like that show and paul f , that is a shame,\BRING IT BACK NOW, do you hear !!!!!!!!!!!!!?

      37

Good! It has never been the same since they put Paul F. Tompkins as host. IT SUCKS ASS NOW!

    38. 38

When they 'retooled" the show with Paul F. Tompkins, they screwed up. The comedy duo of Frangela should have been made the host. Tompkins sarcastic heavy approach was not funny, not were the insufferable Chuck Nice pieces.

    39. 39

It use to be funny when they had different comedians giving the commentary. Now it sucks, Paul F. Tompkins is not enough to hold that type of show together. Its just lame now. I enjoy The Soup anyways, Joel Mchale is hilarious.

    40. 40

Oh god that show sucked so bad. Honestly, I remember when a bunch of people from "I Love the…" series were one when it just started and it was hilarious! Then everyone left and we had the suckage that was Frangella along with all these other super-annoying comics (except Aziz, that guy's friggin hilarious- and precious others who I will not mention).

You wanna see witty, sharp commentary on the week in pop culture (besides reading Perez's site of course!), watch "The Soup". Joel Mchale kills it constantly.

    41. 41

Good! They need to waste their money on something else. Its not even the same show anymore, the old setup was hillarious.

    42. 42

I was better as an ensemble with no host. They should bring it back with the old format.

    43. 43

noooo! i love this show and i loved the new format. i hope this isn't true. i love best week ever and the soup!

    44. 44

i really liked ithe old format before they changed it all up–better when there were lots of people contributing instead of just paul t. wonder why they ever changed it.

    45. 45

the show was so much better before they changed it. Paul F just isn't that funny compared to the rest of the crew they used to have. I'm not surprised since even I have stopped watching it and I used to watch it religiously.

    46. 46

Does anybody even watch that show?????

Re: m.j – I know! I love the soup! and the dish was supposed t be about fashio, but no! they have the same stories as the soup! =S

    50. 50

      Their blog is better anyway.

    51. 51

Yeah Tompkins was lame. I liked it the old way with a lot of comedians making commentaries. I just couldn't watch it once they changed it.

    52. 52

No disrespect to Paul but I wasn't feeling the new format.Hopefully the show will return with the old format.

    53. 53

Awww! I used to love the show before it had a host, It's alright now, just not as funny.

    54. 54

Sad, but I miss the multiple commenter format. That's why it stood apart from The Soup! I loved to watch them both

    55. 55

I like The Soup better. I use to love Best Week Ever until they changed it.

    56. 56

Used to be one of my favorite shows until they revamped it to feature Paul F Tompkins.
