Rosie O'Donnell is heading back to Broadway!
Ro has been named as the lead in the revival of the 1937 Rodgers and Hart musical, Babes in Arms!
Babes in Arms is the story of "a chorine (O'Donnell) [who] helps a group of kids put on a show in order to keep them from being sent to a workfarm."
Sounds like the perfect part for O'Donnell!
The production is taking baby steps in the planning process with no timeline or funding for the musical as of yet.

I was in it a couple years ago.
The definition of "Chorine" is a chorus girl. Unless there is a whole lot of exercising going on, I can't envision Rosie kicking and dancing her way through 8 shows a week. They must be re-working the book on this classic musical in order to feature her a little better.
I hope she has a nude scene!

This will be a great show! Rosie might be a little "old" for the part(assuming she is playing Bunny), but her spirit is young and that's what this part requires. Can't wait to see her belting out JOHNNY ONE NOTE and WEST END AVENUE!!! The young guy from Next To Normal should play Valentine and Nathan Lane as Colpepper!
