Leo To Spawn A New Movie Role?
Veteran comic-book man Todd McFarlane has very lofty goals for his remake of his signature comic-book movie Spawn. There are some big ideas on the table, including who will play the film's lead character.
And who does McFarlane want? Leonardo DiCaprio, of course.
Though the the idea seems doubtful, McFarlane sites that Leo's dad was a "big fan of underground comic books" and he is hoping that that passion has trickled down a generation. Heconcedes though, that the main character he envisions Leo playing isn't the famed Spawn, but rather a detective on the hunt for the anti-hero.
Our vote is "no" on this one. We honestly can't see Leo getting sucked into a comic-book franchise. He doesn't need the hassle. One sinking ship per career is enough.

Fuck no, Leo's one of the few actors in Hollywood with both talent and integrity. He can pick and choose his roles and I don't see him picking a comic book franchise which you KNOW Hollywood would prequel/sequel to death!!

change of pace–if its written and produced / directed with mad skills then sure- it could be great–the life blood of the industry requires one to try new avenues when the time arises
I liked the last Spawn movie. I'd like to see Leo as the detective hunting Spawn. Go for it. Leo is a great actor and will bring something special to a comic book movie– like Robert Downing Jr did to Iron Man.
Chiwetel Ejiofor (Serenity/Kinky Boots) should play Spawn. He is the greatest working actor in the business. He and Leo would be great in this film together!!!

1: Spawn in the first movie was black Hell Spawn in the comic book which the movie was based off of is white…
2: Leo could NEVER pull it off in his wildest dreams. I read the comics I know he would suck.
3: The first Spawn movie was great. It was the ONLY comic to movie film that fallowed the comiv well enough to be considered a good movie……and now there going to reamake it a totaly FUBAR it……..I hate holywood….

NO!! HELL NO!!! This an African American role any white guy taking it would lose his career cred immediately!! Except Shia LaBeouf whom I suspect of being mixed!!! Tyrese Gibson or Dwayne "The Rock" should be in that role!!!!
Re: GothPrincess – "hell spawn" is another storyline, it differs from the original one farlane created. the movie spawn was based on these comics and he definitely was black. the old movie was great, but malebolgia sucked big time!
