Look Whose Squeaking In The Squeakquel?!
Filed under: Film Flickers > Christina Applegate > Amy Poehler
In December, Alvin and the Chipmunks will return to the big screen with their sequel, or Squeakquel, as they say.
The new film will introduce three new but familiar characters to the story: rival band and love interests The Chipettes!
Though it is unknown which character each of them will play, the three ladies slated for the roles have been announced as Anna Faris, Christina Applegate and Amy Poehler.
If we had to guess, we'd say Applegate will play Alvin's counterpart Brittany, Faris will play sweet and shy Jeanette, and Poehler will tackle cute and kindhearted Eleanor.
The ladies have just starting recording their parts and Anna Faris reveals the the process is a lot of fun.
"It’s been great," she says. "I’ve been having a blast doing that work."
And if you are hoping that she'll be belting out a Chip-funky tune, you're out of luck: “They’re not letting me sing. That’s how bad my voice is. They won’t even let me be a Chipmunk singing."
Sounds like it is going to be really fun, if you have the brain of a four year old!

what ever happened to "Samantha Who?" Is that still on the air? Thought it was a good show.
Why not hire voice actors instead of celebrities? Just as celebs are grabbing all the magazine covers and actual models are losing a traditional venue for exposure, there are voiceover actors and character actors who used to be able to earn a living.
Not exactly a diverse bunch, either.
