I think she's right. I'm a mom, but I totally understand why somone (male or female) would make the choice to not have kids. It's more selfish to have them when you are not ready or not able to care for them, then to not have them at all.

I think its becoming a trend. I got married at 19….four years later and I still dont have kids. My brother recently got married around the same age and they dont want kids ever. Im starting to think itll be better if I never have kids.
Stats shows parents are less happy and less financially well off with kids.

The world is not at all over populated. You could fit the entire worlds 6 billion people in the state of Texas, each have a 2000 square foot house, look it up. Shes just an idiot. People from LA or New York who come from populated cities assume the whole world is just as populated. Have these people never taken a flight across country? It's not normal not to want kids. Biologically speaking, you should want to reproduce. However, if she feels this way, it's better she doesn't have children. People who have to live for themselves alone…and can't understand the soul-deep satisfaction of loving, teaching, bonding with, sacrificing for someone else who is totally dependent on you…they are missing out on the most profound experience a person can have in this life. Why? Because they want to live their life, their way, their terms, about THEM. Serving others is a noble thing. Serving children is the most honorable thing a person can do because children are utterly vulnerable. And just because you may think the world has too many children (which is highly debatable), that doesn't give you a pass on motherhood. Adoption is an wonderful option if you believe that. Some people are just too self-centered to change their life to help the most vulnerable people in this world…children are helpless without an adult to sacrifice some of themselves to love them and care for them. If people were all as selfish as Cameron, where would the world be? She doesn't deserve motherhood if that's her attitude. Motherhood has been the greatest honor and privilege of my life. Nothing else I could ever do would ever be as valuable…certainly not perusing totally selfish efforts. That is not what will matter after all is said and done. Serving yourself is not meaningful. Giving of yourself is.

At least she is admitting she only has enough love for herself, and it is best that she doesn't have any children. I applaud her for not having kids under pressure, and possibly ruining a child's life. I bet a lot of these 40 somethings who are now going to great lengths and enrolling modern science to help them concieve thought the same thing when they were younger too though. She should never say never.

I'm childfree by choice and I can tell you about the massive amounts of pressure from society to have children just because I have a uterus. It's shocking how people think that my or any other person's reproductive status is their business.
This planet has more than enough people on it and I feel really good about not adding to overpopulation. Octo-Mom and the Duggars have reached the quota for all of us.
I've actually had people tell me that I'm selfish for not having children….well, you know what…..I think it's selfish to continue having 1, 2, 3 or more children that need massive amounts of plastic kiddie shit, packaged food items, too many toys, mounds of diapers and all the other unnecessary crap that goes along with having kids. And what about adoption? I've had people say, "oh, no, it HAS to be from ME"….and you call ME selfish? What makes anyone's DNA so friggin' important?

People with kids act like having kids was the best thing that ever happened to them and we all know that isn't true. Plus the world IS overpopulated. Every person in the world does not need to procreate. The world would be better off if certain people did not.

I agree with her. My husband and I have no desire to have children-we have a Chihuahua and treat her like a baby-that's enough for us. There is nothing wrong with not wanting children. I think it's horrible that people have kids for trapping a man, or keeping a family together, or just because they "like babies" (OctoMom). Too many people have children and they're on welfare-it's not right. I think it is mature and responsible to decide not to have children as opposed to having them and not taking care of them properly.
Whatever. The women who get offended by someone asking about their decision on children are women who are not confident with their decision. People ask annoying questions about everything children, marriage, school etc.. it's just part of life. If you are 100% sure about your choice there is no need to get defensive answer & move on.

You probably got stuck in the life you're living and are saying all of this to make yourself feel better. I have a satisfying life with my husband, dog, family, friends, and career.
