I'm going to be very blunt here but this is not personal at all so just take it in and try not to get mad. He is a POLITICIAN. His JOB is to get elected and then re-elected if possible. PERIOD. The facts are your movement is just not considered important enough, by him and many others, to warrant the attention or the changes to any laws on a federal level. It does not benefit him to do so, it may actually cost him, thus, he will not alter set precedent. The values and civil rights I'll leave to you guys to bitch about but it should be painfully obvious by now that this man will approach everything from an exceedingly cold and calculated perspective. Being the same type of unemotional and sometimes cold person I respect him greatly, but I'll tell you now that makes him a devious bastard and someone you should not trust. That does not mean he will be a bad President either, only that he will serve himself first. Whether or not that makes him a bad President remains to be seen, for now.

Why is no one crying for the California Domestic Partnership model to be adopted on a Federal level? It would provide the EXACT same rights to all couples, gay and straight. Instead they take their battle to states like California where winning means the use of a word and nothing else.
As for Obama…he told you on day one that he was opposed to gay marriage. Which, by-the-way is in agreed upon by the vast majority of this country's citizens. It's one of the reasons he was elected. Did you think he was going to change his stance because gays campaigned and voted for him? He still has to win an election in 2012. Were you under the impression that he is any different from every other politician?
