It's Official! Madonna Wins Appeal For Adoption!
It's true! A new addition is making its way to join Madonna's herd of youngsters.
It was announced this morning that Madonna won her adoption appeal in Malawi and can now begin preparations to bring home 3 year-old Mercy James. Madge's attorney told the press that his client had been "awake all night long" waiting to hear the verdict and when the moment finally arrived, Madge was "ecstatic."
It will take anywhere from 3-5 days to go through the necessary paperwork and schedule the private jet, but now that it is a done deal, all Madge has to do is sit back and wait for them to bring home her new little one.
Congrats to the lucky mom and the lucky, lucky kid!
UPDATE: Madonna has just released a statement via her rep. Her Madgesty says, "I am extremely grateful for the Supreme Court's ruling on my application to adopt Mercy James. I am ecstatic … My family and I look forward to sharing our lives with her."

You want proof? Tina Turner was rocking the stage at 45 and 50 when Madonna was still prancing around on stage in her 20s with her baby fat still in place. And at nearly 70, she's even more electrifying on stage than Madonna is at 50. And take a look at Joan Jett. She's the same age as Madonna, and she's still rocking it like she's back in the late 70s/early 80s. And she has a bangin' body as well. And yeah, unlike Madonna, she actually knows how to play a guitar for more than two chords.

This whole thing is so wrong… that girl has a family who loves her and waits to raise her, but poverty makes that difficult for them. If Madonna was really concerned about Mercy and what is best for her, she would be helping to support the family (and I don't mean just hand them money!) in providing her with a life, not taking her away from them. o, and for people who are compairing gaga to madonna, um there is no comparison between that bitch and the queen of pop, in fact, no one is comparible to madonna, she is a legend. the princess of pop is britney. I give gaga credit, but she is no madonna, and she has alot of work if she is going to try to be. Madonna is still rockin and just launched the most successful world tour of all time, um she still has it.
Madonna's part in adopting Mercy may be commendable, but just like any other average cynic, I sometimes question Madonna's sincerity, and it's not because I'm "hatin" on her. Sure it's easy for Madonna to help an impoverished nation when she has the disposable income to do so, but I have really not seen much action on her part, other than making documentaries and PSAs, and donating money. She always looks great when she's visiting Malawi with her designer clothes and every hair in place–a sharp contrast to the living conditions there–but I'd probably be much more proud of her when I actually see her getting down in the soil of Africa and getting her hands dirty. A lot of people who don't have the money to write a check for a good cause actually volunteer their time and hard work to help countries like this, exposing themselves to the risks of disease and other hardships–Madonna brings a personal trainer and bottled water whenever she goes. Yeah, Mercy will have a better life than Madonna–hell, she's going to have a better life than most American kids will have–but what about the long term effects this will have on Mercy in the future? It should be interesting how she turns out in 15 years.

If you're a trained dancer, and keep true to your craft, it should be no problem. People say Mikhail Baryshnikov dances better than people half his age. But you're talking about Madonna. Do you really think she'd hire dancers for her tour that would dare to upstage her?

Don't pull the how many albums Madonna sold card on me, because I'll preface this argument and let you know I really don't give a crap how many she sold. The only people who actually care about that are Madonna and her minions–you guys wave those numbers around like a sword. I don't base my music taste on how many albums a particular artist sells, and most of the artists I listen to never even had so much of a top 40 single, let alone sold a a ton of albums, and I'm fine with that. I was merely answering the person's question about who can do what Madonna can at 50, but you, being the typical Madonna fan, have to turn everything about her and other female artists into a competition. To answer your question, Tina sold out her last tour as recently as '08, a pretty good feat at her age, seeing that she's nearly 70 and hasn't had a hit in years. She's also sold 200 million albums to date, and has sold more concert tickets than any other solo artist. I'm not even a fan, and I was able to find that out, and if you were as intelligent as you seem to think you are, you could have looked that up yourself instead of asking me about it. I guess listening to Madonna's music too much killed most of your brain cells.
