Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds Is Ill

The woman who served as inspiration for the Beatles' Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds has fallen gravely ill with lupus, a chronic disease in which the immune system turns on the body.
Contrary to popular belief, the song is not so much an homage to LSD as it is to the day John Lennon's son, Julian, 4 at the time, returned home from school with a drawing of "Lucy in the sky with diamonds," referring to his childhood friend Lucy Vodden.
The two had grown apart, but upon hearing of Lucy's disease, Julian got in touch with her, and learning that gardening is one of the few favorite pastimes she can still enjoy, sent her a note along with gift cards for a gardening store.
Lucy, however, says she does not relate to the song, having been too young to experience the hippie culture at the time it was released.
But on a recent outing, Lucy said she heard the song playing in two different shops, and it made her giggle.
Hope it makes her feel good too!

someone needs to tell lucy to drink half her weight in ounces of water and add a teaspoon of sea salt per gallon every day. lupus symptoms will subside. watercure2.org
that's sweet what julian did. but it sucks that she is sick. i hope she gets better.
Truly sad. Unfortunately, Lupus currently affects roughly 1.5 MILLION, yes million, americans and 90% of them are women. It sucks that there isn't enough the government does to help find a cure. More money is put into breast cancer and Aids research, but why not Lupus? Not that cancer and Aids isn't important but we need to get the word out about this! There is no known cure but you can stabilize it with many costly meds. I thank god, don't have it but my aunt and mom both do. And let me tell you, it sure is one disease that can take over your life! Sorry to preach but this made me think and if I can get out the word to at least one person to learn and about and even get tested if they have symtoms, than that is great! Julian is a nice guy. I always liked Julian. Yoko Ono and John Lennon treated him badly. I hope his childhood friend gets better. This story made me think of my old childhood friends, when I was about 6 or 7. Good Times.

Everytime i see one of Yoko's interviews and get fooled by that fake "innocent" act she puts up i look for an interview of julian lennon and that all goes away soo easily…julian seems soooo sweet and i feel bad that john lennon got fooled by that woman and she seems soo manipulative i saw this interview where julian said "shes a manipulative person she knew what she was doing all along" and i agree 100% ..that cow is still making money off of john to this day and its a shame…i dont care if she loved john or whatever …but i do care that she got him to love her by being fake and being manipulative** Julian or Sean lennon should definently be the ones who should continue to carry on johns legacy and NOT yoko! hasnt she done enough god damn it!
