Palin Keeps Yapping, Calls Letterman "Perverted"

Sarah Palin is sure milking this recent thrust into the damn liberal media for all it's worth. We were just getting used to not hearing from this dummy, and then this mess had to happen.
Palin is making the rounds to all the media outlets who want her to talk about the recent feud between herself and David Letterman. Even though David has apologized for any ill-will, Palin isn't accepting it and continues to rant on and on and on.
She will be appearing on CNN's The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer today, where she will tell ol' Wolfie that she thinks David's jokes were "you know, pretty perverted."
She continues to vent saying:
"But it goes beyond that. Not just that joke, but this insinuation that it's OK, it's acceptable to talk like that, and then that it's acceptable for the media to not provide the American public, the listeners, the readers, the full context of that joke. Letterman says, now, hey, I wasn't talking about her 14-year old. David, my 14-year-old was there with me at the game. She was the only one there with me. It wasn't my older daughter, who's in college and taking care of her young family. It was my 14-year-old."
We repeat: Get over it! Lighten up! And for goodness sake, go back to Alaska!

The original joke was stupid but Palin is even more ignorant than the joke. She needs to shut her stupid rancid twat.
I definitely didn't want her as VP, but I listened to what Palin had to say and she made SEVERAL good points. This double standard has gone on too long.

I agree, and Letterman has confirmed, the joke was tastless. Is she promoting a book or something that she keeps drawing attention to herself? Funny how Katie Couric can put her (Palin) in the public eye but for another talk show host to draw attention to her in a "not so nice way", she continues to discuss it in the media. Wonder why?

Letterman's comment was from a top ten list and asked what the Palin Family would do during their trip to NYC. One of them was her daughter would get knocked up during the 7th inning stretch in a Yankee's game by Alex Rodriguez. There was nothing in there about Rape. Hey Sarah, don't raise a daugher that gets knocked up at sixteen and leaves high school and you wouldn't ahve to worry about jokes like that.

On the one hand, my cynicism about politicians makes me think she is milking.
On the other hand, I have two daughters. I wonder if Letterman contacted her, or if he just said something on the air. If the former, and he did privately apologize as well as publicly apologize, then I'm going with my belief this is just typical politics. But if the latter, and he has never privately apologized, then I'm not sure I want to give Letterman a free pass. I would be offended if someone publicly attacked one of my daughters for the sake of a joke. No doubt, Palin's daughter has a lot to endure with how her baby daddy has treated her, and how her entire pregnancy has been politicized. To heap insult onto injury seems legitimately wrong, and I think you have to cut a grandmother some slack for attacking the person (Letterman), and defending her child and grandchild. I respect that about Palin.
It goes without saying, I think, that if it were Bill O'Reilly or Rush attacking a liberal politician's daughter in a similar manner, you'd be all over it. You are, without embarassment, incredibly selective in how you choose to enforce standards of ethical treatment of people, fwiw.

His comments were horrible. His lame apology was even more of a slap in the face. Regardless of all of the politics going on, this is a mother who is protecting her children. I think it was a pretty slimy remark to make about any girl…he's a creepy pig. And Palin has every right in the world to defend her child. Lettermans apology was an excuse and everyone knows it.
The joke was pretty gross, no matter which daughter it was about, or was supposed to be about. Comedians shouldn't pick on the children of politicians. But Sarah should have just been the bigger person, graciously accepted the semi-apology, and said "please don't do it again."
While Letterman probably pushed it too far, Palin's also pushing it too far. For Palin to accuse Letterman of joking about rape is outrageous. As much as I dislike Palin, kids should be off limits. The media used to make fun of Chelsea Clinton about her looks when she was 12 - it was awful. That said, I hope Letterman stops making these jokes simply so that I don't have to see and listen to Palin in her pathetic attempt to get media attention.
