      Today, U.S. STATE courts are GRADUALLY legalizing same-sex marrige.

      If you open your mind, just a little bit, you will see that: YES, this situation IS similar to the legalization of interracial marriage in 1967.

      BTW, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Spain .. to name a few .. are countries with legalized same-sex marriage.
      THEIR CIVILIZATIONS are not CRUMBLING INTO THE EARTH nor
      are THEIR TRADITIONAL MARRIAGES (like mine) JUMPING OUT WINDOWS or LOSING SIGNIFICANCE!

      My friends and I just booked our tickets and hotel to go to this. Only costing us around 400 a piece. We are coming out all the way from Napa Valley California. We feel it is important enough for the travel. Obama needs to meet his promises he gave when he was campaigning! The most great part about this trip is the majority of friends going are straight. They are going to support me and there fellow americans equal rights, so beautiful!

      To Yellow Pees - I've long been for gay civil unions as well as hetero unions. Marriage is a religious definition, specifically for a man and a woman. And there are several glaring differences, Spain did it only after a majority polled approved of the measure (60's percentile). Given Spain's deep Catholic history, it created a huge divide in the country and civil unrest. It also took 3 years of court battles - money our government doesn't have to throw away for right now. Population is also greatly in favor of younger generation as they have a lower average age and life expectancy.

      Okay one more: Canada also didn't pass gay marriage as a federal mandate - each individual territory did (much like states deciding here). Using Netherlands as an argument for anything, well, 1/2 their "recreation" is illegal here. Not to mention, a couple can still be denied based on conscientious objection - most members of a church still refuse and they are allowed. We won't even go into the debate on the relative population or international influence of these countries. Many thanks to my best friend who is transgendered for the influx of info!       I had a hair appointment on Saturday. The stylist was a gay guy. I had no problem with the fact that he was gay or male. He was a junior stylist. I told him how I wanted my hair. He was filled with so much drama and indecision. He talked more than a woman. After consulting his supervisor, he told me he didn't feel comfortable doing my hair. Maybe he'd only been working there a couple of days, I don't know. He told me to book another appointment with a different hairdresser. I won't say the name of the salon or the city. I've never been rejected by a male hairdresser before. Usually I only get rejected by men in my personal life. You can only laugh at these things. That's all that you can do. I later went to another hairdresser and spent $70 at a different salon.
      P.S. I didn't make a pass at him.
