Brad Pitt's brother Doug announced that the Brad Pitt family (we're assuming that includes Angie and the kids), Doug and his wife Lisa and Rob and Julie Neal (Brad's sister) are making a $1 million donation to St. John's in Springfield, Missouri!
The donation will be used to pay cancer specialists staffed by the hospital, as well as "new 31 pediatric unit, a 10-bedroom hospital-based Ronald McDonald House; and double the size the neonatal intensive and pediatric intensive care units."
Because of the generous donation, the center will be renamed St. John's Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center, after their mother.

Brangelina are some of the very few celebrities whose philanthropy is genuine, I think. They are extremely generous, philanthropic people.

Real givers are people who don't always have to make public what they give. These people really only give to get publicity out of it. Nice for the hospital, but I am not impressed.

I highly doubt Jane Pitt wants Angelina's name on any donations. That's why it says "Brad Pitt family" while naming the other family members and spouses. Verrrrry interesting.

I'm a paramedic in Springfield, and St. John's stinks. They have some of the rudest doctors and nurses I've ever dealt with, anywhere in the nation. They also have terrible morale. That said, Doug Pitt is a great guy, and is very generous. He owns a computer service store in Springfield (Service World Computers) and they provide fantastic customer service. Never met Brad, but he seems like an alright guy. Despite my intense dislike for St. John's hospital, I'm sure this money will be put to good use, and I commend their family.

I live in Springfield, and regardless of why this is a great thing for the area. There is a large outlying rural area, it would be so much nicer to have a top NICU closer than St. Louis or Kansas City. I've NEVER heard a bad thing about the Pitt family down here, they are amazing people.
It's great that the hospital gets to benefit for their generosity in light of their major artwork purchase that raised heads and all the rumors of their demise. Nothing like the good publicity of a generous donation! But who cares what the reason. It's nice they donated.
I am definitely not a fan of Brad Pitt's, however I have to give Angie & him credit that they donate to charity. That said, instead of donating to charities around the world, they should continue donating to US charities, we need help here.

Why do assume that when they said "Brad Pitt family" that include Angelina? First of all, Angelina is not "his family" she is not married to him….. His kids, parents and sister/brother are HIS FAMILY….It seems very interesting that her name was not mentioned in the gift, she is very egotistic and I'm sure will demand her name to be included..Unless she is not part of "The Family" gift….

It's a very nice gesture, but there's absolutely no way $1,000,000 buys all that. Sounds like a bit of donation inflation. The Ronald McDonald House alone will probably cost more. To add to the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units is likely to cost closer to $1m per bed than $1m to double the size of both existing units.
It's a great gift that will no doubt be put to good use, but this is, unfortunately, an unrealistic assessment of what it will buy. Either the dollar amount is being mis-reported or the intended use is being inflated.

That being said- the Pitt family does a lot for Springfield, and I am really glad to hear that they are making those upgrades to the already awesome and state of the art hospital. Thanks!!

My husband is a LEED architect, since architecture is not surviving so well, the donation he made was very nice boost in the situations.

Yes I know The Curious Case of Benjamin button sucks but I loved Cate blanchett in it and the photo which is my avatar is a lovely photo and jenfraud, Jennifer has never WRECKED HER OWN HOME, Angelina on the other hand has done much more.
The kids and families who benefit from this donation while dealing with this hideous disease wont care if they like Brad or not. They will be forced to focus on something far more important…a child's life being threatened. The look of a child dealing with chemo is one of the most heartwrenching things you will ever see.
BTW this is not about Brad or Angie or Jennifer Aniston (how in the hell did she get in this?) this is about the kids and babies who are dealing with a life threatning disease and hopefully extending their life as long as possible or at least easing their pain for as long as possible. Grow up.

Thats great but why do they have to change the name of the place? You cant go around changing places named after saints, its wrong. Suppose I gave a donation to St. Patricks cathedral they arent gonna rename it after me are they? And who wants to go to a church named "oh my god you are huge down there" cathedral? And they aren't changing the name of the hospital, just the building. All the major buildings around here are named after the person who donated the money. Hulston Cancer Center, Wheeler Heart Center, They Meyer Center.. etc.
Both my grandpa and my aunt recently died of cancer in the Springfield area. They both spent many, many hours in this cancer center. This is awesome of the Pitt family to do for such a small, hometown hospital.

Because of a recent change in insurance I have had to switch from Cox to STJ and after a night in the ER I couldn't agree more with you. STJ has the RUDEST staff I have ever dealt with. I will be changing insurance soon so that I can go back to Cox. I would rather pay more then deal with those people ever again.
With that said.. the Pitt family as a whole are just amazing. They do so much for Springfield and its nice to see that Brad hasn't forgotten where he's from. And I doubt it was all of "Brad's money" because none of the Pitts are hurting for cash.

Nice about the donation. I'd never want fame, but the dinero to help others would be awesome. That being said, what's with the outfit? Looks like something Hugh Hefner would wear (speaking of pervs). I have been saying how wonderful this couple is for adopting rather than spitting them out like chewing tobacco, but now she's dumping them on the floor also. At least I still admire their entrepreneurship….I wish I had $1 million to donate.
Giving is always a beautiful thing, but considering Brad recently dropped over 1 mil on art, I think he could afford to give more. 1 million to people like Brad is pocket change.
That hospital cured my grandmother of cancer. She had only been given a 50/50 chance of surviving. Now she has been cancer free for nearly 20 years. That is really nice of them to support that hospital.

As someone who lives in Missouri, I can tell you the Pitt family has always given back-even before Brad got famous. Lots of people from Springfield tell how his family had local businesses and hired local people.
This donation will make possible the area's ONLY pediatric oncologist and pediatric hemotologist. It is huge. It will save lives.
First, that bitch does not have a family and second, a huge donation like that is to hide de mud of their private life.
