Madge "Ecstatic" To Adopt Mercy!!!!

Now that her first adoption defeat was overturned, Madonna is thrilled to officially call three-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James her own.
"I am extremely grateful for the Supreme Court's ruling on my application to adopt Mercy James. I am ecstatic. My family and I look forward to sharing our lives with her," said the singer, through her spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg, on Monday.
Madge was initially denied adoption after a judge ruled that prospective parents must live in Malawi 18 to 24 months.
At the appeal on Friday, Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo deemed the residency requirements an "old law" and approved the adoption.
Madonna and Mercy should be together mid-week!!!

I just found out from a Chinese friend that the Chinese government has stopped all foreign adoptions and have started a nation-wide system to encourage Chinese people to adopt orphan children and will pay them (similar to the foster care system in this United States).
I can only hope Africa starts the same thing. Stop these celebrities from using children-of-color as accessories and publicity! Madonna blows.
He is too cute for words and I think she is doing a good thing and she can grow her family as much as she want to. She can afford it. Plus Mag likes all people.

I think there's a great perception that if not for some rich white lady from the US this child would have simply been miserable and suffered her whole life. As an African woman I can safely say our orphanages have more love and dedication towards children engrained in them than some of the households I've seen her. Furthermore what if everyone had the idiotic attitude this barbaric beast does 'Oh look at that child with 1 parent in the household, I'll adopt them!' 'Oh that child is going through the system while their parents try to find a better home life for them, adoption time!' It is undeniable ignorance.

This is a truly tragic day for Malawi. Madonna you could have helped many, many children in many, many orphanages. I help support an orphanage in Suya Village, Blantyre and with even 100th of what you spent on going over there, your entourage, your building of the orphange etc, could have fed 250 of my kids for a whole year. This is not altruism, this is complete and utter narcasistic personality disorder. I am so angry and so desperatly sad, I can't even begin to describe how bad this is for Malawi. All your supporters are ignorant of the facts re the judicial system in Malawi and how easily the mighty dollar can change hands and change fate. You have no ethical compass and your morals are down the toilet. In essence you are no better than your forefathers who bought children during the slave trade. Accept you buy your children for amusement and self gratification i.e. "I am a great mother, I have given these poor children a home!".

There are SOOOO many children in the US that need adaption that it just makes me sick everytime I hear of people adopting from other countries. Adoption is not a fad or the cool accessory.
Madonna should to buting new purses to stay fashionable, and quit buying other peoples kids. If she really wanted to help, she could have given the family of Mercy enough money to support her and allow them to keep her in Malawi.
