Now this is the way a true Miss California should answer the question!
Although we don't agree with her stance (duh), the newly anointed Miss Cali, Tami Farrell was asked her opinion on same-sex marriage, the beauty queen answered with such grace and tact!
Farrell said that she believes that marriage is the union of a man and a woman, but….
The new Miss California wasn't done there.
Explained Farrell: "I don't think that I have the right or anybody has a right to tell somebody who they can or can't love. And I think that this is a civil rights issue. And I think that the right thing to do is let the voters decide."

I'm really impressed by this. My roommates, family and I all agreed that it wasn't that she was against same-sex marriage, but that she should have taken into account who was asking the question. If you're obviously going to disagree with the views of the person asking the question, give a diplomatic answer.

just because someone has a difference of opinions from you doesn't mean they aren't intelligent. i think it's sad that people can't freely express their opinions about topics like that for fear of being shunned. we all need to learn how to respect everyone else's opinions, even if we whole heartedly disagree.

Tami's answer was barely different from Prejean's. Saying the state should not define who you can love is NOT the same thing as calling for gay marriage. Gays can do whatever they want to do without marriage. Like Prejean, Tami said the voters should decide.
Most of us don't care what gays or lesbians do. But we will NOT sit around idly while NOW activists try to sell America on the penultimate matriarchy of SSM.
Being against gay marriage is drawing a line in the sand saying we REFUSE to turn the institution of marriage over to the feminist state.
When any two woman can marry each other they would have chattel control over children, take over the sociopolitical institution of family, keep their own incomes, have at least two sets of child support orders and various welfare entitlements. With numbers like that, its a given that men will be kicked out of society within a generation.
Perez, you might be gay, but you are also a man. How dare you sell all men into slavery of the National Organization for Women to get something you don't even need?

I agree that Tami gave a very good answer then, she gave her honest opinion, but it was much more eloquently put than Carrie's. The only thing is that Tami has had a LONG time to think about her answer and the kind of effects her stance could have on her, whereas Carrie had too answer the question on the spot.
OMG the voters did decide and you are still protesting.
