True Blood Soars In The Ratings!

Looks like HBO finally has a new Sopranos on their hands!
The second season premiere of True Blood on Sunday night was the highest rated program for the premium cable network since the finale of The Sopranos.
According to the Nielson ratings, 3.7 million viewers tuned in to True Blood on Sunday!
Wow!
The ratings are up 157% from the first season's premiere and up 51% than last season's finale.
Sounds like HBO snagged a winner!

haven't seen the show. I am willing to be since Perez is raving about it then it must behoove him in some sort of way. Perez very rarely ever says anything nice unless it is in his best interest………

That picture is SO GROSS. What is so "interesting" about vampires anyway ? I don't know whether they exist or not……..but they're weird, and not "erotic" or "sensual" to me at all. Sucking blood SUCKS !
True Blood is so good, I love it! It can get a little to porno sometimes but regardless it is good.
Show is awesome. And Anna Paquin has (surprisingly) beautiful breasts. She almost went full frontal on that season premiere.

I am completely obsessed with this show! There could not possibly be a hotter vampire than Stephen Moyer! The books are great too, but slightly different than the show, which keeps it interesting. Alan Ball said many husbands come up to him and thank him for this series because they now get action on Sunday nights after their wives watch True Blood!

Nice to see Paquin doing well for herself. She won the Best Actress in a tv series at the Golden Globes a few months back which was nice to see. Definitely her biggest win since 1994 with the FUCKING OSCAR! HBO never fails to amaze. Curb Your Enthusiasm better start sooon.

I doubted this show and I watched the premiere. It's actually very good!
Its the first show I've seen which is 100 times better than the books I don't know how anyone can say the books are better. True Blood is way more intelligent it has everything, vampires, murder mystery, racism, drugs, sex, violence.
I am not really into the vampire genre, but I love this show. It has a good mix and it is very unique. However, I am still pissed that HBO dumped "Rome" so prematurely. That show was amazing!

This is the best show that has come around in a while! It started off the first season kinda slow but got better and better each episode! Alan Ball can't do wrong!

I saw this show since day one…well my husband got me into it and its addicting!!! But I really hope HBO hands out more episodes because last season was only a taste and we need more. I just hated once the season ended last year it said Summer 2009 and True Blood fans were all thinking what the hell? Other than that this is the only reason we have HBO is to watch True Blood.
#1 show, I love Alan Ball and Charlaine Harris, this is one fabulous combo! I know it hurts to say it, but Alan takes it that one step further Charlaine does not.

Definitely the best show on television–and it was last year, too. I have to say, though, I think Nurse Jackie (on Showtime) will give Ture Blood a run for its money. Both shows are intelligent and well-written, unlike any of the reality show crap we're subjected to every day and night.

I started watching TB in Sept. of '08, started reading Twilight books in Jan. of '09. The Twilight movie had come out in November, but not on DVD until Feb, when I bought it. Meanwhile, the faithful True Blood fans were patiently waiting for the new season, and pre-ordered the 1st on Amazon months ago! I started reading Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse books in May of '09. She had started writing them in 2000, and the first one was published in '01, way before Twilight, which was in '05 or thereabouts. I didn't know what I was missing! Now Alex Skarsgard has my full attention, as Eric Northman…dreamy!
