And it isn’t bigoted to hate an entire group of people (mormons or anyone else)? Mormons are used to it. They are probably the only group of people that it is socially acceptable to make fun of or hate, and until relatively recently it was even legal to kill them in some states just for being mormon. There may be bigoted mormons, but in my experience they are minority. There are even mormon democrats! Just like there may be promiscuous gay people who spread AIDS or whatever other stereotype, it doesn’t mean it is true of the majority of the population.

I never said I was against gay marriage, that was your assumption. I was simply trying to explain how some people think. I can understand both views. Personally I believe that all people should have the same rights under the law. But for most people being against gay marriage has nothing to do with hating gay people. If you took the time to understand their points of view you would know this. But only God can judge the motives of peoples hearts, that is not something you or I can do. My point was that it is wrong to hate an entire group for the actions of part of it, especially since, based on your comments, you don't seem to have a clear understanding of the religion at all. Have you been to a service? Have you read the Bible or the Book of Mormon? Have you met someone who truly practices the religion? Or do you get all of your information from anti-mormon websites? If you had learned about the religion for yourself you would not make uneducated bigoted comments about a clearly Christian religion being a cult. Hate is never the answer.
