Beyoncé was slated to perform tomorrow at a nightclub in New York for the kickoff of her North American tour, but as of this morning, the singer has pulled out of the performance claiming to be too busy with preparations.
Club owner Joey Morrissey is super pissed about it as the diva had signed a contract for the event and demanded that Morrissey spend $100,000 preparing for the show! And now, he wants that money back…and then some. He plans on a major lawsuit if the singer doesn't reschedule.
Morrissey says the offer he received from Beyoncé's people was that she would stop by the club "to hang out for an hour" on Sunday, but Morissey isn't biting.
"I mean, we sold tables for thousands of dollars for the show, and spent $100,000 renting a soundboard and other equipment, as per their stipulations," he says. "What good does her showing up for an hour do me? They've been totally unwilling to agree to another show."
Because of the cancellation, Morrissey says he's preparing to file suit against Beyoncé, claiming his place will suffer a "loss of reputation" because of the circumstances: "We had an overwhelming response from our club-goers, who were lining up to buy tickets and tables. This will come as a great disappointment to all of them. If Beyoncé cancels and doesn't give us a new date, this hurts our credibility in night life."
Sucks to be you, pal, because we don't think a new date is going to happen. When Sasha Fierce doesn't want to do something, she doesn't do it! That's what it means to be a diva!

If this is true, that is really fucked up of her to do. You can't screw with people's businesses like that…it's just not right. When people get famous they seem to forget about all the regular people who need to pay their bills and feed their families. They wouldn't even be famous if those "regular" people didn't spend their hard-earned cash on their cd's, movies, etc. Do the right thing Beyonce and stand by your word (and the contract).
I hope this club owner takes her to the cleaners. Seriously, fuck singers and their outrageous egos. She's a mediocre singer with a big ass…aka…no one special.
