Oh what a major tease!
It is officially confirmed that Katie Holmes will be performing for So You Think You Can Dance, but you will have to wait a long ass time for it!
A source confirms that Katie has already filmed the segment, but it won't be aired the until the finale - in AUGUST!!!
WTF?!?! Why so long Dance people?
Well, at least the source thinks it will be worth the wait. It will be "a Broadway does Hollywood number. It opens on a Broadway stage and then she walks into a Hollywood studio."
As for Mrs. Cruise, she is as impressive as the decor she dances around: "She was amazing. She was such a pro. Her legs are in great shape. She's got a hat and a cane and she's wearing a leotard and tights."
We'll have to wait and see, but we see a train-wreck pulling into the station and we're going to love it!

Actually Holmes really can dance!! I grew up in Wilmington, NC where Dawson's Creek was filmed and she actually came to my dance studio a few times to take classes during her down time. I only ever saw her taking tap classes, but that girl could actually dance! Granted, that was like at least 10 years ago but she still may have it in her! It'll be interesting to see what she pulls out for this one.

For those of you who think Katie will do "just fine": of course she will, it's being PRE-TAPED. The director will make liberal use of editing, special lighting, smoke machines, lots of backup dancers, and even possibly a body double.
